Please welcome Dean Wurzberger to our leadership team. He will serve as Head Coach of the U18 Development Academy team and DOC of Pre Academy for the 2013-14 season.

Wurzberger will serve as a key member of Andromeda’s player development network and is a great addition to Andromeda’s talented coaching staff.

John Watters, Chairman of Andromeda FC, stated that “we are thrilled to be able to add a coach of this caliber to our team. His background as a Division One college coach and as a scout and active participant for US Soccer will lend invaluable experience to our current program."

Aaron Jacob, DOC of our Development Academy program, added that "Dean will bring further stability to our USSF Development Academy and I am looking forward to our future working partnership. I am confident his expertise, experience and knowledge base will assist our players in achieving their true potential, while allowing them further opportunities to showcase their ability to colleges throughout the US.”

Prior to relocating to Dallas, Wurzberger served for nearly two decades as Head Coach of the University of Washington Men’s Soccer Team. At Washington, Wurzberger amassed an overall win-loss record of 220-112-41, a record that currently stands as the best all-time winning record at the University of Washington. Under his tutelage, the Huskies reached the Division One NCAA tournament 11 times in 15 years, including back-to-back second round appearances in 2006 and 2007. During his tenure, the Husky men’s soccer program produced 10 NSCAA Scholar All-Americans and 67 members of the PAC 10 All-Academic Team.

Wurzberger is well-known across the U.S. as a top coaching educator. Since 1988, he has served as a staff instructor and instructional leader for US Soccer and has been actively involved in national and state coaching education and licensing programs at every level. In 2010 Wurzberger earned the prestigious UEFA (Union of European Football Association) “A” level coaching license through the English Football Association. The UEFA “A” level license qualifies Wurzberger to coach soccer at the highest levels throughout Europe. Wurzberger also holds “A” level soccer coaching licenses from the Scottish Football Association and the United States Soccer Federation.
