98B Club Merger
What Classic age group is the only age group in which FCD does not have a D1 team? Answer..... '98 Boys
Well not anymore! If what is being said on the girls forum is true, Revolution Premier '98B is now FC Dallas '98B!
Per that forum, the entire Revolution club has merged with FCD. FCD also picks up a D1 team in the '94B division.
Revolution parents get ready for the higher fees and for your teams to be cannabolized! All FCD wants is your money and the coveted D1 invitations that come with the merger.
As a fan of smaller clubs and independent teams, it is a sad day for me....

Cannibalized
Why would this happen if they are the only D1 team?

Re: 98B Club Merger
You're probably right Tequila, not necessarily the '98s, but their academy teams, girls competetive teams and '94B team.
I will go out on a limb and say that there will be a couple of current FCD '98B D2 players who will end up on the D1 team by next season if that team hangs on to one of the top 8 spots. There are probably boys on that team on scholarship that can be replaced by paying players at the same skill level.

Re: 98B Club Merger
Yes, that sometimes happens, but its not always the club doing the moving, very often its parents / players that are looking for an opportunity to be on the top team.
From my experience, at least in the 97b group, there has not been much movement of players between FCD teams in the past 3 years, with the exception of the FCD - FCDS merger 2 years ago. This of course will change when they start taking players into the juniors program.
