Skills training recommendations.
I am new to the forums and looking for a skills coach recommendation for my 03 bb. He has played rec since he was 5 and has been in club soccer for about 5 months. He has made the leap from rec to starting on a strong CL D1 team and is doing well playing most of every game, however I know he lost a lot of developmental time by my procrastination to move him from rec. He loves the game with all of his heart and I want to give him all I can to help him continue to grow and develop and not become discouraged as the competition level increases. Thanks for any and all advice!

Re: Skills training recommendations.
My sons have trained a lot this summer with the folks at Global Futbal Training,
http://www.gftskills.com/. You can do individual sessions or pick a group of kids you want to train with and set up sessions for the group. We train with Itamar and Jeremie and the boys like both of them.
Another option is the program at City Futsal at IAD off 35. My son trained with the twins during the one day a week training sessions last Fall and enjoyed it.
Having said the above, I would suggest that in addition to the above, your son will have to spend time on his own, in the backyard or neighborhood field playing with his siblings, friends or on his own. My kids have made the biggest strides when they decided to spend time in the backyard juggling, playing each other and messing around with the ball.
Good luck.

Thanks so much for the reply! I will look into gftskills.
Fortunately he is a backyard warrior and wears ball after ball out from playing in the street to destroying our fence!

Re: Skills training recommendations.
Soccer Dynamics at Sole Roll graduated five starting players on the top two Dallas Texan teams and one starting player on the top Texas Lightning team. All of these teams went undefeated in the QT last week and are now in CCSAI Division 1.
Soccer Dynamics is all about player development and they have the ability to train players at all levels.
These guys are serious about their students. They track weekly development and perform monthly testing to establish the players level of progression.

I've been really pleased with Coerver (www.coervertexas.com). My BB is 02 CL and 01 ODP. He/we attribute Coerver to where he is today. It runs for 12 weeks at a time and is year round.Bsdad wrote:I am new to the forums and looking for a skills coach recommendation for my 03 bb.
