New to ODP...but it seems $85 for 6 - 2 hour sessions is worth the money. Exposure to different coaches to learn from and experience of playing with different kids. More touches are always good if your kids is a soccer nut. I think if you have realistic expectations the experience will be good.

Re: ODP ...is it worth the $ ?
As a coach of a current ODP player and a former coach of (3) additional players; I have mixed emotions on ODP...After hearing all past/present parents with kids in the program; I strongly believe that majority of players are opting to stay strictly with their club teams. The coaches from their club staff are most likely just as qualified as the staff with ODP; with the exception of G.W...so therefore just to pay that amount money for more touches on the ball @ the most 3 additional training sessions; maybe ludacris at this point...Regions such as E.Texas & N.E.Texas may benefit more; as they do not have as many qualified licenced coaches part of their organizations; unless they are playing under the direction of Tyler Azzurri Soccer Club (Corey Hooper, Mark Schubert, Jody Lake, & Chris Handy).

Re: ODP ...is it worth the $ ?
We're also new, but going from bb's enjoyment at all the odp sessions, I'd say it's well worth it. Low fee, near our house, training and scrimmages with skilled kids, upcoming summer camps, exposure to new coaches and feedback...what's not to like? I don't know what everyone else is expecting, but isn't that quite a lot already?99999999999 wrote:New to ODP...but it seems $85 for 6 - 2 hour sessions is worth the money. Re: ODP ...is it worth the $ ?
I was wondering more about the 800-1000 camps .....for the cost are these beneficial or will the child get more exposure playing college showcases? I've heard other parents who's daughters have gained full scholarships tell me not to waste our time or money in ODP.

Re: ODP ...is it worth the $ ?
On the boys' side, if your child is good enough to play on the national team then ODP is the path to that success. Otherwise, the benefits are limited to additional practice, a summer camp, exposure to other coaches, and the development of relationships with top players from other clubs. If your child enjoys the experience, ODP is good value for the money. If he doesn’t enjoy it, don’t bother. On the girls' side I have no idea.

Get on a good club team that has good credentialed coaches and attend premier college showcases with your respective club...Key point: 2009/2010 Juco National Champions (Tyler Junior College); no former ODP players on their roster, but all sophs will be attending (premier) Div1 universities on PARTIAL /FULL SCHOLARSHIPS...

Re: ODP ...is it worth the $ ?
ODP puts all your other obligations before their own, so I don't see why the bbs cannot do all of the above AND ODP. We'll see...for the time being, only positive reactions from bb and all his friends who attended the three odp sessions.sideline95 wrote:Get on a good club team that has good credentialed coaches and attend premier college showcases with your respective club...Key point: 2009/2010 Juco National Champions (Tyler Junior College); no former ODP players on their roster, but all sophs will be attending (premier) Div1 universities on PARTIAL /FULL SCHOLARSHIPS...
