Wow, there are only 6 teams in Division 1???? 10 Teams in Division 2 and 19 teams in Division 5..... Whats the logic to those groupings, does anyone have an idea?

That is interesting. I found this on their site:

U12-U14
• Each of these age groups will have 10 teams in D1 and D2 and the remainder of the teams will be
placed in D3 or D4 if applicable
• All teams must have N+1 from the Spring Roster as of April 1, 2013 to be considered for a BYE.
• From the F12/S13 standings the top 10 teams in D1 will receive a BYE and will be F13’s D1
• If a PPL D1 top 10 team does not return or makes Classic/Lake Highlands we will accept a Classic or
Lake Highlands team in their place. With N+1
• 4 BYES will be given in D2 leaving 6 places for qualification. Team’s in 11th and 12th place from
F12/S13 D1 will be offered a BYE and 2 other BYES will be offered at the discretion of the VP
Competitive, this may include the top teams from D2.
• At the end of the fall season awards will be presented to the top 2 teams in D1 and D2
• Then the top two teams in D2 will be promoted to D1 and the bottom two teams in D1 will be
relegated to D2. All points will be removed.
• At the end of the spring season awards will be given to the top 2 teams in D1 and D2
*D3/D4 groups may not have parity of play
*N+1 is based on your roster as of April 1, 2013 and is half your roster size plus 1. For example if you have 18
players then you need 10 returning players to maintain your N+1.

10 games in 6 1/2 weeks. Talk about a condensed schedule. Classic ends 2 weeks later.

Yea not sure why so many games in such a short period of time. Perhaps they are still in the process of restructuring the Divisions and wants to see where everyone fits in?

The results are posted for this weekend. A quick look through the back games and it looks like only 3 matches are not posted. DIII has 1 match and DI has 2 Matches.

Striders won 4-1 over North Dallas 40 Blues Youth tonight. Even though they haven't won. I really like how they play, very good passing team, I think they just need better strikers. I think they can be really good in a couple of seasons.

Hopefully there will be some games across leagues during tournament season. I would be interested to see the differences between the top APL, PPL, and all CL D3 teams. Just guessing but I suspect there are some delta's but not that much.

Thoughts?

My experience is that the bottom of D2, all of D3, and through the top of Arlington and top of Plano are pretty even. There is small differences, but any team can beat another on any given Saturday. I think you saw last year in the challenge cup how the top Arlington and Plano teams stacked up with most making it into Classic this year.

I think that you will have the chance to test that hypothesis when CCSAI D3 qualifiers are played next year. I think that the competitiveness between the CCSAI divisions have helped D2 and the bottom of D1 so the success of your idea will depend on the level of competition that PPL and APL have had to endure. I have seen and heard about games in PPL and APL and I don't think there will be parity with any of the D1/D2 teams (11-20) including the two that will be promoted. I do think that D3 will most likely be a free for all and I agree that APL and PPL will have movement into Classic League.

i agree that the top of ppl and arlington leagues are competitive with d3 classic. my question is a little loaded because our team, midland united chivas could play classic d1 but we recently combined two 00 boys teams after deadline for d3 QT. but unlike fcd and other large clubs we haven't been able to rig the system with bye's, ect., plus sharing players with timely, legal, release and transfers. i suspect the d1 classic teams are relatively weak and maybe d2 and d3 are most competitive. there should be an open QT for 1 or 2 spots in every division NOT just d3:bounce: bounce

By "relatively weak", do you mean the current classic d1 teams are weaker than in years past top to bottom? Do you mean comparatively to other classic divisions? Or are you extending the comparison to other leagues as well?
