All they did was seed everyone based on the Round 1 point totals... thus Genesis is 1st seed, and going down... looks like any ties were then based on their original seeding.

I would agree, but it could be set up based points without classic teams eliminating themselves. They are allowing challenge teams in without playing a classic team. Makes no sense, none.

i agree with what you are saying and what they appear to have done. I don't think this method really ends up with the best teams being in classic of the 14. We already saw that in the first round where the brackets of 3 did not play the exact same competition which to me is flawed to begin with much like this one. Seems rather unfortunate to line up a bracket with ZERO classic teams (2 of which will qualify) and another bracket with one classic team and then having two brackets with three classic teams. Additionally bracket A has three 2nd place finishers. Yes, Genesis had the highest points but really? The top team they have faced was a 9th place classic III team in the first round. Seems to me they need to put some further analysis into how they place teams and not just go by the numbers.

All of the challenge teams play at least one classic team in round 2.

I agree. I thought group B looked pretty tough until I saw group C. There will definitely be some strong teams left out of Classic. Will that cause those teams to blow up? It's been happening at some of the older ages...

Good point, Offside. Typically, qualifying for Classic League bodes well for retaining core players and attracting talent no matter which division the team qualified for. However, this year seems a bit crazy with a host of CL teams losing super star talent to PA, UIL coaching conflicts, and what have you..... This could persuade top talent from the DIII teams to go for open spots on teams in a higher division. Also, depending on the structure of the club, top talent could be cannibalized from lower tier teams and pulled up to top tier teams.

We shall see how it plays out.
