What style of play does a club teach
What style of play does a club teach, or do they leave it up to the coach?
FC Dallas?
Texans?
Solar?
Liverpool?
Andromeda?
Ayses?

Re: What style of play does a club teach
It depends on the level of the team. Are you talking select D1, PA or DA?
Some coaches teach possession and some teach more direct style of play.
If the team is not very skilled then a direct style of play becomes boot and run or worse yet kickball.
The top teams can play possession and direct or a combination of the two depending on their formation.

This question is almost too broad to answer. In addition to PLF's comment, it also depends on the age group. Even with the same coach in the same club... younger kids will be focused on certain lessons while older kids would see something completely different.

It does not depend on the club but on the coach and the players he has on his team. Ideally the team can transition during the game from possesion to a more direct style of play depending on the situation and opportunities. Possesion style soccer does require a higher skill level.

My bb's don't play for them but I would say Ayses is the only club that makes a real effort to have a style of play from top to bottom in every age group. Other than that I would say it's up to the coach.

And what style of play is that? I have seen Ayses teams transition from playing in the back to long ball without a pedominant style of play at least in the older age group.

Re: What style of play does a club teach
Not that they are always successful but I would say the Ayses try to play a possession style by building out of the back and work through the midfield to the final third. There are numerous examples but the 98 bunch have been working on it since they were U11 and have worked their way into D1 and become a top five team. I see the same effort with the 03's and despite the fact that they are often out matched they continue to try and play. To your point I've seen most teams that try to posses the ball fall apart and become a kickball team. That happens here especially when the wind is blowing 30 miles an hour and when you can't move the ball on the ground more than a few yards on the Richland grass. And other times when you're down a few goals. I just think as a club they are the most consistent.
