Illegal Player

I heard a rumor that Millennium FC 97 was kicked out of Soccerfest for using an older player. Can anyone confirm this? If its true, Millennium is scheduled to play this weekend in the Challenge. How could that effect their ability to still play in the tournament?

From what we were told, it sounded more like a guest player paperwork issue. My son played in Soccerfest and we were told they just didn't hand in any paperwork on the guest players and that was what got them disqualified.

thats probably the case. you know how rumors grow and if you are 4th or 5th down the line, they can get really big then.....

Not the 1st time I've heard a story like this about that team.

Even if they finish 1 or 2 in Challenge games, Classic League still has the right not to offer them a spot in the league, since it's invitational. I would think tht if this wasn't a first offense, they might have a hard time making it into Classic.

Okay my point is this, if your team is not playing in a tournmanet and a kid wants to guest play with another team, why on Earth would you keep a kid from enjoying the game. Now, if you have a big tournament the following weekend maybe I can see that. Other than that, let the kids play. So what if he finds a better fit. Nothing is stopping you from looking at a few players as well.

if the tournament turned them in, then North Texas will have to hold a hearing to see if it was done intentionally or not. Tournaments usually dont turn in their tournament report until weeks after the end of the tournament. Then North Texas will need to notify the coach and give him enough notice to plan to attend.

Worse case is if coach is guilty of KNOWINGLY playing an illegal player, then he can be suspended up to 1 year from North Texas. I cant see them penalizing the team for something they had no control over.

Millenium should be allowed to play in the challenge, unless this player was also playing in league games but not on the roster or taking the place of a rostered player. That is a whole different story.

A tournmanet is a lot like a tournament except there is a Happy Hour before the game. Just in case you thought I mispelled a word.

Solar has a policy that they do not sign guest player releases.

If true that is stupid. When was that put in place?
I have seen Solar players guest play a few times in the past.

Sorry Mr Clean but Classic League is not the Bad News Bears league. We as parents including yourself pay loads for our kids to play. We all sign a contract and understand that we all need a release to guest play. Now if a coach decides to release or not a player, we must respect his choice as parent and players, since our kids are under contract.

But a forged coach signature is in no way acceptable, no matter the reason. In the real world that is a felony. My BB has been on both sides of the fence, as far as playing and getting a release.

I'm shock that the team was even allow to play into the playoffs at all. That alone cheated one of eight other teams from advancing.

That's why I going to do the same thing The German did, going to join the dark side and sit with the parents....opps being doing that for years.....OK....I'll just go swimming with him.

Thats interesting-from what I heard FW United 96 had 2 Solar Red players guest playing for them when they won the Cowtown.

It is a Solar policy. But obviously only enforced when it benefits
the club or coach.
