Middle School Soccer

How many districts in the metroplex have middle school soccer? I know some of the kids on my older son's team have started but also heard not many districts put out the money for it. Was glad to see my son's district has a six game schedule and they have two teams at the 7th and 8th grade level.

If we had more school involvement at the younger levels, we might retain some of the better athletes and create some more quality players.

First game tonight and son is excited to wear school colors and play a game he really enjoys.

Sprint, what district are you in? This is our first season for middle school soccer (7th and 8th grade).

Keller has middle school soccer. Apparently separate 7th and 8th grade teams. In some form or fashion. If "athletic info" Day was any indication, it ranks somewhere down with competitive tennis on the coach give-a-shitatude scale.

I did hear Keller also has middle school. They will stout in a few years when the ODY 03 kids roll in. Predict Bates gets a State Title in 5 years.

Little # 13 will need help in order to have a chance. You can shut one player down. My estimate is about 6-8 players and then you have a chance to win state.

my thought was if the ODY 03 kids stick together until their Junior year of HS playing for Paddy and also play for HS, they will be very strong. I think many of them go to Keller Schools so not just little #13, although he can dominate.

not sure if this google search for keller high schools is accurate but 5 popped up....

I was meaning Keller High, as I think that is where 13 kid will go and I think a few other ODY kids. Not sure, but would be cool to see kids that have played together since age Ulittle stay and play through HS together. Does not happen often.

Lewisville ISD has middle school soccer. One team for 7th and one team for 8th. At my son's school, the girls get the good coach who played in Lake Highlands and had a D1 college scholarship while the boys get the goober football/basketball guy who seem pretty clueless. Regardless, my son is excited about it and it gives him an opportunity to play a different role on his team. Season is 3-4 games then an end of season tournament. With 15 middle schools in LISD, there's no shortage of competition.

Northwest ISD did MS soccer last year and this year (that I'm aware of)...NW ISD is made up of Trophy Club Byron Nelson HS & Northwest HS and opening fall of 2015 Eaton HS. There is girls & boys soccer made up of an A-team and a B-team so there are tryouts and cuts. So far one of the assistant soccer coaches from the HS has been leading the A-team boys practices, sounds good but...

The top team is made up of a few club players and the "best" of the others, also 7th & 8th grade are mixed.... For the boys it's fun to play with their friends and it seems to give the high school an idea of who's in the pipeline.

Southlake is playing with Colleyville this year. I believe they have tried or trying to get with Coppell as well. Would make sense since those cities (Southlake, Grapevine, Colleyville, and Coppell) seem to do track events together.
