Yes, they are already in Regionals. Most likely the State Cup final will be between these two teams. In that case, are they going to pick a third team from NTX for Regionals?

contrary to popular belief a few players make a big difference in this team sport. guest players are hard to account for. top 3 or 4 teams in any division are as good as middle of the pack teams holding D1 and D2 spots for clubs. good for samba

true especially after the first couple of years when PA starts to recruit players, but the first two years of select nah not a chance

Guest players seem pretty easy to account for in State Cup. Maybe I don't understand the rules.

I'm just pointing out that two teams may know what to expect from each other if they are playing at normal strength. A weaker team could bring 5 guests to the the "dance" and beat you if you don't do the same.

The only "guest players" allowed in State Cup are through "player passes".
As for the Liverpool Kuyt team, I am not going to make any excuses for them. What I will say is 3 coaching changes in one year and no practices in practically the last three weeks and when they do have practice on Thursday the coach sends a sub. Read between the lines... but the play is reflective of the current disease set by the club. Buyer beware for next year.

well!! you only have to have 9 regular season long players on roster. you can add 5 player pass BB's PLUS "TRANSFER ADD/DELETE" of 5 additional players from an entirely different team 14 days prior to State Cup.

That may be true, but North Texas is a bit stingy on the transfer add/delete unless it is within the club and with this years league games continuing after State Cup, I suspect most teams are holding onto their players to finish out the year.  In neither case are they considered guest players, the add/transfers are now rostered through the end of May.

I am sure most teams did not train in the last weeks, it seems that the DT fields are permanently closed.

as pointed out by starbuck, the Liverpool team is going through some club/team problems. honestly, you could tell something was not working for Liverpool even during the last CL games. I don't think Samba used 10 guest players to beat Liverpool. Otherwise they would have won against FC Dallas East, instead they lost 5-1.

I watched the Wizards vs kernow game. And for long periods wizards were simply outmatched. Seemed to be a coaches vs players issue as they weren't responding to him. As for kernow they have a very good forward with above pretty decent CMs. They only had two subs so no guest players I presume

Wizards lost to Andromeda, too. Not a good day for them.

We (Samba) only have 1  00 boys team.  So we are playing with the only roster we have. However, seeing how huge of a difference if made for us in the second game I would have loved to had some fresh players for that second game. Realistically we had some good build up in the first portion of each half but as they wore on we just didn't have the energy to keep up with their really good off the ball movement. Still the score was not completely representative of how we played. As the half started to get late I changed them into a VERY attack minded formation hoping to maybe pull 1 more goal on a quick counter for maybe one more goal. Every point in tournament play has to be considered. Well we didn't get a second and me stretching us we gave up 2 more. We would have loved have gotten to play both teams fresh but we were the bottom or one of the bottom seeds. Therefore, if teams had to play 2 games we had to be one of them. That's what happens when your a bottom seed.

All and all with 2 STRONG starters injured I couldn't be more proud of my players and I personally want to thank all of you that had the support. Our goal at Samba was to show that we have the talent to play with anyone, and while we didn't quite show the ball movement and fitness to play that second game as competitively as we would have like. Please let me take this opportunity to congratulate the FC Dallas East squad on playing a pace that we were just not able to match yesterday afternoon.  They are a very good team and we look forward to playing them again. I hope I the Memorial Day Tournament perhaps some of your will come watch us play. Thank you all that had kind words for us.

Today, Liverpool Kuyt beats FCD East 2-1.

Semifinals as I predicted:
FC Dallas Premier vs. Andromeda Red
FC Dallas East vs. DT Red

Yeah this has been a season of turmoil for Liverpool Kuyt no doubt. However, this team has shown when settled (and healthy) that they can beat the majority of teams in the league as shown by their six game win streak to end the fall season. For perspective, they have lost two of their strongest players to ligament injuries and have struggled with suspensions. The coaching changes have been unfortunate and challenging for the team no doubt, however, they now have one of the best and well respected youth coaches in the country in charge (Armando Pelaez) who has committed to lead them through U-18s. This is a massive plus for the group as those of you who are familiar with Armando and his coaching and teaching ability know. Despite the up and down season, this group I believe has much room for growth if they can add a couple of accomplished players (especially offensively) and get back the aforementioned players from injury over the summer.

Agreed, what is the big deal? DT Red has many players that are good enough to play PA, not sure if they do or not. Don't confuse PA with DA.
