FCD Topletz 2 - 3 CRUSH
Crush won the battle of the midfield and raised to the task on their defensive end.
RAYOS 1 - 2 XTREME
Both teams playing with small rosters and players showing up late?
CHEL/E. 4 - 2 FCD Kang
Is this where playing up was maybe not such a good idea? There was a size and speed difference on the field, or was it that they worked hard last weekend at tournament?
TOROS 4 - 0 EVO
Was one team that good, or one team...
FALLS TOWN 5 - 1 SOL/CHELS.
I thought this one would be a closer match. They looked unorganized and like they had tired legs from Labor Day? Did those extra touches come at a price?

It stunk to high heaven.

Power Ratings will be released after Week 3.

Week 2 Matchups

Will FCD Kang multi-pronged attack be a problem for a Falls Town team of bigger defenders?
Will the returning Classic team TOROS welcome newcomers XTREME to their first loss?
Can EVO bounce back vs a determined CRUSH?

As predicted the smaller multi-pronged attack proved to be too elusive for the FT defense.
XTREME. 10 - 2 TOROS
Size mis-match, speed mis-match, etc.
EVO 0 - 5 CRUSH
The game wasn't even that close.
SOL/CHEL 1 - 1 RAYOS
I was wrong, neither is 0 and 2.

We were up 3-0.Don't know if its official or got to play it again

Unless they have changed the rule this year, you have to play a complete game for it to count. I would plan to play it over again in its entirety.

Inclement Weather Procedures. In the event of inclement weather, the Classic
League will determine if games are to be suspended. If games are suspended,
teams and spectators should go to the parking lot and stay in their cars - do
not leave the complex until you know the games will not be resumed. If play
can be resumed, a Classic League official will sound the ALL CLEAR and play
will resume at the point it was suspended. Games may be temporarily suspended
in the 1st or 2nd half with the intention of resuming play as soon as possible. If
games cannot be resumed, reschedule information will be posted to the Classic
League website and on the League hotline. DO NOT LEAVE THE COMPLEX
UNTIL YOUR COACH OR MANAGER TELLS YOU GAMES ARE
CANCELLED. Either the coach or manager should check with the Classic
League complex headquarters for more information before leaving. Games
MUST BE COMPLETED to be considered complete games. See also Rule VI.

Rule VI 3. Regular season League games that are stopped short for any reason other
than acts on the part of one of the teams (or their representatives or
spectators) will be rescheduled and replayed in their entirety. Regular
season League games that are stopped, abandoned, or suspended on
account of the actions of one or more of the teams, team representatives,
or spectators will be referred to the A&D Committee for consideration of
disciplinary actions and final disposition of the game.

I'm pretty sure that would have to go before the Competition Committee?

So it sounds like only a couple of teams will get a bonus League game.
Makes you think why the Rules are not set up by just picking up the game at that point on an upcomming Saturday?

A big contrast in styles. Will Crush commit additional attackers in order to keep the ball on the opponents side? Can Xtreme handle the possession style of Crush? This is the Match of the Week.
SOLAR CHELSEA vs TOROS
Both teams struggling at -4 goal differential. Can the undersized but skillful Toros offensive attack break down Keene's strong back line?
RAYOS vs FCD KANG
Can the Rayos get the offense going? This is a team that is under performing since their impressive performance in qualifiers. Can FCD handle the Rayos size and speed?
FALLS TOWN vs CHELSEA EAST
Chelsea was winning up to the point of last weeks rainout, while FT was losing to Xtreme. Two very strong physical teams in this one.

BONUS REMATCH- XTREME vs FALLS TOWN on Sunday.

1.2 FCD Kang - holding their own vs a tough early strength of schedule.
1.0 Crush - Maintaing a positive goal differential.
   0 Toros - Negative G.D. while having a 2 - 1 game record means average.
- 1.0 Rayos - Tough start vs the toughest strength of schedule.
-1.3 Falls Town - Competitive squad despite the long drive in.
-1.3 FCD Top - Third weakest defense in the league.
-1.5 Solar Chelsea - Have only found the back of the net twice this season.
-3.6 Evolution - Back on the recruiting trail. 

GAME 4
FALLS TOWN 2 - 2 XTREME
Remember this rainout game? I found out that Xtreme was winning 4-2 when the initial game was stopped in the second half, only to replay to a tie. Is anyone happy with the rule?
CHELSEA EAST vs SOLAR CHELSEA
Chelsea East was up 3-0 then the rainout. I don't see this finishing in a tie.
TOROS vs CRUSH
Crush has a +1 power rating, to the Toros 0. I see Crush winning comfortably.
RAYOS vs EVOLUTION
Again, one team has the opportunity to win their first game.
FCD TOP vs FCD KANG
One team has a positive power rating and the other a negative number.

GAME 5
CELSEA EAST vs RAYOS
The Rayos fresh off their first win of the season look to keep it close vs the frontrunner. Rayos kept it to within 1 goal vs Xtreme and Kang.
FCD KANG vs TOROS
Kang's Gameday Power Rating 1.2 vs Toros 0. I see a comfortable win.
SOLAR CHELSEA vs CRUSH
Both teams will compress the game into the center of the field and the lack of fast finishers points to a close game.
XTREME vs EVOLUTION
It's the Colleyville Derby- the teams practice a mile away from each other. EVO has beaten and tied them 2 out of the last 3 times they have played. Somehow i don't think that will come into play.
FALLS TOWN vs FCD TOP
Both teams have the same Gameday Power Rating of -1.3 after 3 games. Who wants it more?

We are half way through the Fall season and the League schedule provided some good matchups in the past 2 weeks. The quality sides have begun to pull away from the pack so to reinforce that sentiment it is as good a time as any to update the Gameday Power Ratings:
THROUGH 5 GAMES
4.4 Chelsea East-  Prev #1 remains on top, will Kang or Xtreme challenge?
3.8  Xtreme-  the #1 defense in Division 3 has the most size and speed. If anyone has that one shutdown player to take away your best scorer, he's on this team.
2.9 FCD Kang- still at #3 but more than doubling their Power Rating and cruising.
0.7 Crush- two losses in the last two games, still nobody looks forward to playing them.
0     Falls Town-  up from a negative number and now the league average. Big Win vs Xtreme 2-2.
-0.8 Rayos- they keep every game close and competitive. Could make a move in the second half of the season.
-1.2  Solar Chelsea- slowly moving up 2 slots from last time.
-1.6 Toros-  tied for last in defense allowing an average of 4 goals/game.
-2.7 FCD Top- Power Rating has doubled in the wrong direction.
-4.4 Evo- next four weeks include Kang and Chelsea East, hang in there!

GAME 6 MATCHES

EVOLUTION vs SOLAR/CHELSEA
This is a good matchup for Evo, can they find the back of the net and make a game of it? Hang in there.
CRUSH vs FCD KANG
Did the teams have this one highlighted on the calendar? Match of the week!
FCD TOP vs XTREME
Top on a very negative slide on the Gameday Power Rating to a -2.7 vs Xtreme's 3.8, this could get out of hand very quickly.
TOROS vs CHELSEA EAST
Can anyone challenge the frontrunner?
RAYOS vs FALLS TOWN
This is an excellent matchup of contrasting styles. With rain on Friday- will the field conditions be a factor? This is the
Co-Game of the week.

A common saying in sports is DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS, but in this context let's take a look at the teams whose defenses will move their teams towards PROMOTION.
The number is the Average Goals Allowed which measures the defensive unit and goalkeepers performance;
1.0  Chelsea East also has the highest goal differential. (True 04)
1.0  Xtreme's defensive unit is tied for first and the back line has just as much, if not more speed than most teams forwards. (True 04)
1.5  FIFTH place Rayos has the THIRD best defense, what does that tell you?
1.7  Crush smothers the ball into the middle third and keeps possession.
1.8  FCD Kang has a fast moving transition defense which pushes the ball forward out of danger.
1.8  Solar/Chelsea is the final team keeping the opposition under 2 goals per game.
3.0 Falls Town's strategy is to move it's players, Forwards playing on the back line, depending on the opposition to match up against the opposition's strikers.
3.5  Evo has kept opposing offenses it's last three games to 2 and 3 goals which is not that bad.
4.5  FCD Top has issues on both ends to work on.
4.5  Texas Toros still look like an '05 and need to recruit some size.

GAME 7 MATCHUPS
The Fall season is winding down and some big matches are looming on the horizon. Every season has it's expected results, surprises and disapointments- Division 3 has delivered on all. It is very evident that the top half of the league looks to have their eyes square on the promotion prize coming this Spring, while the bottom 4 will be in a battle to avoid the relegation zone. (Gameday Power Ratings update after results.)

FCD KANG vs EVOLUTION
A good tune up for a big match next week.
SOLAR CHELSEA vs TEXAS XTREME
A -1.2 vs Xtreme's 3.8 power rating and #1 defense points at a comfortable win. Maybe Xtreme comes out flat- looking ahead at 2 big matches in the final weeks of the season?
RAYOS vs FCD TOP
Breaking into the top 5 with 2 wins in their last 3, are the Rayos finally living up to their impressive performance in the qualifiers tournament?
CHELSEA EAST vs CRUSH
Can the giant killers do it two weeks in a row? I'm sure evryone will be taking a peek at field 1 during their BB's game. This is the Match of the Week!
FALLS TOWN vs TEXAS TOROS
Each team comes in with only one win in their last four starts- is this a make or break game for their season?

CRUSH vs FALLS TOWN
In the last two weeks Crush has been playing vs the league's top competition while F.T. has not. GPR of 0.7 vs 0.2 gives the nod to Crush.

-4.1 vs -1.2 indicates a S.C. win.
TEXAS XTREME vs FCD KANG
One of the leagues best offenses vs one of the leagues top defensive units. DEFINITELY THE MATCH OF THE WEEK!
EVOLUTION vs CHELSEA EAST
An opportunity for C.E. to work on some things after a close scare against Crush last week in a one goal game? They score a lot of goals vs the teams they're "supposed to beat" but games are much closer vs top tier teams? Are they looking ahead to next week?
TEXAS TOROS vs RAYOS
The Rayos are one of the hottest teams in the league and look to keep things moving in the right direction.

Kang coming off of a big win despite being shorthanded against Xtreme look to finish the  Fall season with a Win and possibly second place.

It's been a long season for some teams and even longer for others.
