Classic League 02's Fall Wrap Up Empty Classic League 02's Fall Wrap Up

Post by Guest 11/5/2012, 9:38 am

The fall season is over and the teams are one game over the half-way point. The standings and few statistics show:

1. DTS -30pts (In first place on goal differential over SR due to strength of their offense. Expect their three best players to continue to carry this offensive juggernaut ( most goals for) in the Spring with or without a coach on the sideline)

2. Solar Red-30pts (Undefeated and in second behind DTS on goal differential. They have the best defense in the league based upon goals against and are solid throughout. Expect them to keep winning in the Spring)

THESE TWO TEAM ARE STARTING TO RUN AWAY FROM THE PACK AND CREATING A FIGHT FOR THIRD.

3. DT Thornber-24 pts ( A solid team that is fighting to overtake DTS as the number #1 DT team. They had the easiest schedule in the league for the Fall. They have slipped up lately with three draws that have created a fairly large challenge in the Spring to get to the top spot.)

4. FCD Premiere ( Goncalves)-23 pts: (Nipping at the heels of DT Thornber and expect them to keep winning. The best FCD team and may have enough to catch the top two with a good run in the Spring)

5. FCD Premiere (Clarke)-20pts: (Have always played a very pleasing style of possession soccer and are on a 4 game winning streak and tied DT Thornber. Should be easy pick to stay in D1)

6. Solar Chelsea (Renner):19pts ( Started off shaky but on run of 4 wins. Suprising loss to DT Red Scott, but seemed to be coming on. )

7. LP Fagen: -14pts ( Lots of speed on this team and they fight hard. Expect them to stay up in D1)

8. FCD (Gomez):13 pts ( an often overlooked FCD Team, but finished the Fall with second best defense based upon Goals Against. Tied DT Thornber and are picking up pace. Should stay in D1 on strength of defense)

9. Arsenal: 13pts (Started off very strong and now fighting to maintain top ten. )

10. LP Gerrard: 13pts ( The hardest schedule for the fall and climbed from the bottom to top ten with great wins against LP RUSH, TX Suns and Arsenal. Will need to look out for this team moving up to top five as the hardest teams are in their rear view mirror)

11. Sporting United: 13 pts: (Like Arsenal had a great start but now hanging on around cut line for D1)

12. LP Owen: 12 pts

13. TX Suns: 11 pts ( A good team with some exciting players and I expect them to be in top ten when season is over.)

14. TFC Larry: 10 pts ( Had a slow start but making up a lot of ground in the latter part of the season)

15. DT REd Scott: 9 pts ( Tied DT Thornber andn beat Solar Chelsea as two big wins of the Fall. Will need to put together a few more good wins to fight for top ten spot)

16. Ayses Gold: 8pts ( Up and down team for the Fall. Has arguably the best individual player in the league, but wins are hit or miss. If they can get on a run, they could rise quickly in the Spring)

17. Dallas America:

18. FC South BLue

19. Real Estudiantial

20. FCD (Gonzales)

It will be hard for any team in 15th on down to make a run for D1 and will be fighting to stay in D11 for next Spring.

Any other thoughts?

DTS is in first place due to the strength of their team not just their offense. They have more than just 3 player they have proven this year after year. If this was not the case they would be ranked right next to that team with the best individual player. Just Saying!

Every team has its best players that stand out above the rest and anyone that has watched DTS over the years can see that those kids stand out on that team. The other players on the team are very good, but hard not to acknowledge the three that stand out. Scoring a ton of goals each week doesn't happen unless you have some very skilled players up front and that is what they have. This is all my opinion of course and others will undoubtedly see it differently.

As for the best player and his team, you are right, one superstar out of 11 cannot carry a team to first place, but he can put on a good display of skill each week and show his individual dominance. In the end, we should each care more about how our kid plays as an indivual at this age and not so much about the team. The teams will change names and come and go, but is your kid an impact player? Again, just my view of the world.

at this age it's a combination of both team and individuality. My point about dts is that everyone sees the goals, but i see the other plays who did their part to score that goal. Again I understand this is your opinion but this team has players that can play and more than 3 players that standout... for example dts goal keeper.

Oh no he di' 'int!!!!!
I would say around 13th down is more than likely not going to stay in d1.

Actually, DTS is #1 for one reason: They have scored more goals than the second placed team this far in the season. The stats and records are there to see.

There is no hate for DTS, they are a good team and have dominated for a few years. All teams have their standout players and I simply felt those few were the ones that carried the offense that scores all the goals. WHAT is right in that it takes a team to play well.

I expect them to keep winning by large margins and scoring lots of goals.

Expect FCD South to jump up with the new kid that may get his release.

New kid from what team? If he is already within FCD, I think they can just switch him around in teams. That is a good benefit of playing in a club with multiple teams in Classic League. The FCD or DT or LP or Solar teams could swap players if wanted, as far as I understand the rules.

@Gatorz I don't think your hating, we are just having a public discussion about opinions which is good. Keep the 02 talk going!

It looks to me tjat Proud02parent was giving a compliment to DTS.
Am I missing something here?
He's saying that the haters are going to hate due to the fact that THEY are NOT #1.
If that's the case, then thank you Proud02parent.
