Guameru 04s playing in 06 tourney

Players were asked their age and grade and replies were 8 and 3rd grade. My son plays for Liverpool and its sad that a club and coach would do this to true 06s. I pray they get caught.

Guameru wins the final 3-0 over FC Dallas 06 Riojas.

I hear that Guameru had 5 players on the bench and never subbed one time.

Parents also saw Guameru players come over from the 05 game, change jerseys and enter the game for 06's in an earlier game this morning.

Very true..... And I witnessed all of it. FC Dallas boys still played their hearts out!!!

It was very pathetic. Grown adults reverting to cheating to beat a team of 7 year olds....really?!! Do you need a trophy that badly, Guameru SC? I'm pretty sure we can start a collection to buy all 8 of your coaches a trophy so the rest of us can play against true age teams!!

We were there too. Our boys played them to 2 to 2 at the half, but couldn't hold them off. Their goalie almost scored on punts several times.

Take a look at the PrimeTime gold regular season results and see if you can tell when they started bringing out the 3rd graders.

Any way, congrats to the Guermeru 04's and 05's on a great run throught the 06 bracket. Their 06's had a great view of the tournament from the bench.

If this really happened, your coach and manager should file a protest with the tournament and NTSSA. The club will have to go to the NT A&D and explain. If this really happened, the ramifications for the club could be huge.

It seems pretty difficult to prove. Without photo ID's you could submit any cousin's or sibling's birth certificate.

If they're legit, then we all owe them an apoplogy. It's possible all these kids are in the top .001% physically.
But they were the only 06 team in the tournament with multiple kids (at key positions like keeper, striker and center mid) close to five feet tall, who played like experienced 10 year olds and could kick the ball the length of the field.
Both Solar teams and FC Dallas have some big athletic kids, but the best of the Guameru kids towered over them and were far more developed.

In the end, I don't care enough to make a fuss about it. Our boys came out injury free (despite the 20 to 30 lbs/kid weight differential) and had a good time playing soccer with their buddies.

Its not shocking that somebody thinks its totally worth cheating to win a 7 yr old soccer match. And ridiculous physical disparities are usually a pretty good tell. However, it should be noted that playing in an '05 game doesn't automatically make you too old to play in an '06 game.

If they can cheat and get away with it they will count it as a win. Sticking it to the system!

That's absolutely true regarding an 06 player playing in both 06 and 05. Also, Primetime tournament rules do allow for a player to play on more than one team as long as it is in different age groups. So their legal there.

But, like you said, sometimes things just don't pass the eye test.

As was mentioned, if they are legit players then we obviously owe Guameru a sincere apology.

We all know that you can play in 2 different age divisions as long as you play up..We all know that some 05 birthdays still fall in 06 bracket. The fact is that the players were asked age and grade level and the answers came back wrong. People say that it doesnt matter because they are only 7 year olds and they are just having fun,,,thats BS. Tell that to me crying son after losing a tough game or tell that to a team of upset players after losing a meaningful tournament. These kids ARE competitve and there should be something done about cheating. They should get what they are working towards, trophies,awards etc.

I hear you. My boy hates to lose too. And they are much more aware than we think of unfair and unjust actions.

I'm just not sure what can be done about it.

I did hear some parents (from other teams) saying they may boycot tournaments in which Guameru plays. That may be one way to light a fire under PrimeTime. If nothing else, it's a safety issue, especially with 10 year old head refs (one of whom was reffing her 4th game EVER!)

I'm still amazed at all the comments on this issue and YES very disappointing to see how hard all the U7 work to improve skills and knowledge of the game but i guess if it makes 5 want to be Coaches feel like a bigger man and not let any of your true U7 (benched) players not get one minute of PT then i guess WE SEE YOUR Knowledge for the sport!!! And the Coached for FCD was approached by 2 diffrent coaches before the game to protest the game for older kids,,is one thing when parents talk but when coaches come to you it's a little diffrent cause they actually know the players!!

For that club Gua!! ever there name is if you are the president absolutely no apology teach the Sport and teach it right Win or Loose don't show young boys the wrong way show them to play with Heart and Hard work!!!

For the Touney Directors change the rules!!! and stand behind them and most important enforce it!!! you also should have some dignity and stand behind parents that are dedicated to you and most important the young kids that work hard to improve the game!!!! Boycot sounds good!

Surfing thru the web I came across this blog...

First of all I'm the parent of one of the Guameru kids(The mid center from one of the other comments to be exact), I know every single one of the kids from Guameru and they are all withing the age range,the "tallest" kids aren't really over age which are the keeper and the seeker are of proper age, on the Nov. tournament ALL of the coaches from EVERY single teams asked for a photo id and birth certificates from all of our players and it was provided for to avoid these kind of comments yet it was more then enough for all the other coaches to just take a look at both set of parents for these two kids to know why these kids were so tall since the parents are all over 6 ft tall. On the tournament of Feb 2013,they were both called out and ONCE AGAIN we provided with documentation, specially playing against Solarium and FC Dallas.If these is not enough for you please send me your info so that I can provide you with the proper information regarding all of our children. Also, in these tournaments you cannot enroll children without official photo id and birth certificate.

If I write in this blog is because some of the comments and accusations regarding our team cheating are absolutely untrue, bitter, and immature.

My son, one you guys mention above, trains and plays since he was 3 almost everyday, his field has been the streets, he hasn't been fortunate enough to be trained in the YMCA nearest him, so his love and passion for soccer comes from the heart. We do not pressure him into anything we just support him like any other parent. I can say that this is everyones story at Guameru, they have all grown up together. My son is the 2nd youngest in the team after another who just turned 6 and it sound irrational that in other teams all other kids were tall and athletic with "club training" specially FC Dallas, so I'm truly amazed at what all the fuzz is about...

In conclusion and to leave all this at ease, my son, the 2nd youngest of the team in the Nov tournament of 2012 scored 70% of the goals, which by the way was the one that scored 2 of the 3 winning goals against FC Dallas and also scored 2 more on the Feb. Final 2013, we will soon give you the opportunity to see for yourselfs the kids ages and to get to know them as players since they may not always be on the opposite team. Please do not be shy to come and ask for info at the time of the inconvenience instead of turning a possitive blog into what it is now...

My son played with Guame's now u15 team last year and I can confess that it was the very best year of training he has ever received. There's a reason why one of his son's plays pro for Atlante in Liga MX and his youngest son, who is 14 or 15, is already playing professionally in Mexico for Queretero's U17 team, their dad knows what the hell is doing. I'd recommend any of you guys who are paying $3,000-$4,000 a year at the big clubs, to look into Guame's Academy. Alberto "Guameru" Garcia is a Class "A" guy and one of the best coaches in the DFW area. I never saw any cheating during the year my son was with the club. We left because we are not a rich family & had to make a monetary decision, school or soccer? We chose education.

Questionable players during a primetime game as well. kids on 04 team well over 2 ft taller than other team. Sad when teams choose to play this way, teaches nothing

Well, here is a questiom then. If The guameru kids (at least the ones who dont watch the whole game from the bench next to their other normal sized friends) are legitimately in the top 1% physically, why dont they play "up" with 05s? At least then they would play kids who can ALMOST look them in the eye.
