Well, here is a questiom then. If The guameru kids (at least the ones who dont watch the whole game from the bench next to their other normal sized friends) are legitimately in the top 1% physically, why dont they play "up" with 05s? At least then they would play kids who can ALMOST look them in the eye.

Better yet how about this when you ask the goalie and the midfielder " hey kid what grade are you in?“ goalie I'm in 4th -midfielder I'm in 3rd ok yes they are not cheating......they are just 7 year olds!!! And yes if he is that good of a coach why doesn't he have a D1 team not just one boy playing proffesional

Now that's funny......If you've been paying attention over the last few years, his current 98 team won Plano, won 3rd Division last year, is in position to win or come in second place of 2nd Division this year. They'll be there soon. Last time I checked, you can't start a new team in 1st Division, you have to win your way up. His academy is only three years old

I would assume the kids are advanced and extremely intellectual for their age, therefore they have been advanced in their school and that is why they are 6 - 7 years old in in 3rd and 4th grade, but the true test and question next game is.......... Not what grade are you in, but can you add the two 1's on the back of your jersey and what does the equal? cheers lol!

True skillzski. Besides barely missing an actual bicycle kick on a corner, one of the kids stopped mid sprint, tied his shoe in 2 seconds, and resumed his sprint. That's when I knew he wasn't a first grader. Very Happy

But seriously, that Guameru class referred to above shined through when they went through the handshake line saying "loser, loser, loser" to the Solar kids half their size.

Where you usually see the difference between older players and younger players is in speed and agility. We have some BB's on my son's team who have been questioned about age due to their height, and yes they are tall 10 year olds, but when you see more than a few kids using their skills, speed and tricks ( including the old let me tie my shoelace trick ) and still skool you is maybe and indication that something is abnormal. We play in many Hispanic leagues and tourneys indoor, outdoor, etc, and even our Hispanic parents know the age of the kids and they play up, they play down, they play to play, and sometimes it is in an unfair way. The games go like this - your team is up a few goals, and new kids on the other team show up around half time and they keep getting bigger, faster, stronger, and more technical.
In a NTX TOC semi finals game, a team we were playing did roster check with the referee, and 1 minute into the game 4 kids strolled up after they had been sitting in a car 15 minutes prior to the game, the funny thing is they started the game a player short and think we knew why...
Hopefully it makes my BB a better player because at the end of the day we can talk about this till we are blue in the face, and not much will change, and that is unfortunate.
As for the kind words at the end of the game from the kid, fruit does not fall to far from the tree.....I would expect that from a 6 year old, and not a 7-8 year old......lol

After each of these games, I find myself saying exactly that: "Hopefully it makes my BB a better player [without a broken arm, collar bone, leg . . . .] because at the end of the day we can talk about this till we are blue in the face, and not much will change, and that is unfortunate."

As you said, nothing much will change -- as long as leagues and tournament directors accept birth certificates at face value. With a couple of phone calls, I could easily get a birth certificate documenting my 06 BB as a 4 year old boy, a three year old girl, or maybe even a golden retriever. Smile But ultimately those pieces of paper prove nothing.

p.s. On a final note (I'm done with this topic), I know you didn't mean it that way Skillz, but I want to leave race out of this discussion. I found a very similar 2011 discussion in the 04 forum, and that one quickly became a racial spat. This shouldn't be a race issue. We have great families of many races on our team. And we're pretty much all united in our feelings about teams that play over-age players to get that all important Under (ahem) "7" soccer win. In fact, the hispanic families on our team are among the most convinced that it's unfair and unsafe for the age appropriate bb's.

Footbull, that's funny regarding the two seconds to tie a shoe for a first grader. I've often told my son in indoor if your shoes becomes untied grab your shoe and get the heck off the field because its a 20 second ordeal not 2!!!!
