Moving to North Dallas from the UK - looking for advice.
Hi All,
I am moving to Dallas in summer with my family from the UK. My 10 year old son (11 in March; 2002 age group) plays soccer in Scotland for a local boys club and has been playing since he was 6. I am trying to find a club to get him into as soon as he arrives so he can make friends quickly and continue playing. I would say he is playing to a decent level, the SFA system has them playing 7-a-side games at the moment snd he normally plays in defence or midfield.
The family will be moving in July, which I guess is pretty hot compared to Glasgow, so not sure when the seasons starts and finishes. Anyone got any recommendations on how I find him the right club to fit into?
I will be coming over in March to look for a house, most probably looking in Southlake, Colleyville, Keller and Flower Mound.
Lastly, I am also involved in coaching and wondered what the process is for getting checked and certified in the US. I have level II certificates in UK for coaching kids and would be interested in continuing this in the US.
Any help and advice would be very welcomed.

Welcome to Texas! www.ntxsoccer.org has a "Coaches" section that can tell you more about the licensing (get used the s, we spell things wrong on this side of the pond) requirements. You should get some credit for your European licenses.
Tryouts are traditionally in June but don't worry. Almost all the coaches leave at least one spot open for kids that come in later so you will have plenty of choices. Tournaments run throughout August (yes, it is miserable) and the season starts in September, ends in December. Begins again in February, ends in May. www.ccsai.org is the most well-known league around here.
