U.S. Soccer Development Academy Announces 22 New Clubs for Launch of 2013-14 U-13/14 Academy Season
New Teams to Join Academy’s Existing Clubs in New Age Group
March 18, 2013

12 of the 22 are in California.
5 in the NE USA.
3 in Florida.
2 in Carolina.

Those are new clubs. The new clubs will join existing Academy clubs in the new U-13/14 program starting next fall.

The same 4 NTX clubs will have U14 DA teams.

I know but CA already had 13 (5 in San Fran and 8 in LA/San Diego). They added 7 in San Fran and 5 in LA/San Diego.

So now San Fran has 12 DA clubs and NTX has 4. Seems lopsided.

Wow, what a shock! The new clubs added are from Florida, NC, CA, and the Northeast. The 4 major areas whose regular club teams are still national powerhouses and where ODP still is doing well. I am sure that is just a coincidence though.

Don't know for sure. But I would bet that TFC and Liverpool did. If not more.

Bottom line is, until they start allowing clubs from less populated areas entry, they won't be getting all the best players.

What he means is until they accept ETX Premier into the Academy, then the best players just won't be there. If you
need more info on how awesome ETX Premier is go to the 97's
and dig up all the info laimport has posted there about them
in the past.

Not sure why a club ,andromeda fc, that went broke and has small presence in ntx soccer would be part of this over say a liverpool? Maybe someone can enlighten me. Politics? Old boy network? scratch

It's really much less to do with ETP's 'awesomeness' and more to do with the kool aid so many parents keep drinking.

That if, you aren't D1 CL, PA or DA (depending on age)then you obviously aren't capable of playing at that level.

For context, I'm not talking about the strength of the team collectively. Just some of the individual players.

In fact, I believe one of our players was approached by a DA team. Even though age wise he was eligible for u15 PA.

Now, does that mean anything? You decide. You are the one making assumptions in this case.

Old boy network and some politics but I will have to lay some blame at the feet of Liverpool. Not sure who is running things at the top for the boys but the really seem to be disconnected from the things going on. I don't believe they actually got an application in for the 13/14 academy. Being in the 13/14 would have made it easier to get into the older groups rather than trying to get into them all at the same time
