Great post. HS soccer needs a way for teams to advance beyond the state level and into regionals and nationals. It would give the kids who choose that path over club soccer a chance to reach higher levels and get maximum exposure to potential college recruting opportunities.

Interesting how many Top 20 teams, by this list, are from Georgia. Looks like they may not have programs, like DA, that siphon kids away from HS soccer like they do in NTX.

They play some good soccer in GA. I believe the Regional winner in the 99 age group last year was from GA.

Would like to see all these teams play in a tourney to decide a true #1.

i'm sure that the national chairman for the ranking committee being from georgia and that texas was not represented on any of the regions in the spring had nothing to do with ntx high schools not being ranked.

this ranking system is probably worse than gotsoccer is for club soccer.

Two teams from Omaha, Nebraska, and none from Texas? I'm doubting it.

Regarding HS teams playing beyond the state championships in some sort of regional or national tournaments, I wouldn't hold my breath. They don't do that in any team sports for high schools.

No but the top hoops schools do play preseason games against each other on their own sometimes. Would be nice to see some inter-regional HS games

These are rankings for teams that play "Spring" high school soccer. There are separate rankings for Fall and Winter. If you look at the winter rankings you will see Texas teams.
