Tryouts

Well, since I’ve migrated over here, it’s only fitting to bring this over, too!

From a previous TM post...wish I could claim it as my own...
It's been a fun ride and hope everyone ended up where they wanted and hoped to be!
For me, this is my third and FINAL time around – can’t believe it’s finally here! Everyone enjoy watching your kid play and make some memories!
Farewell academy days….see everyone at the QT in a few weeks!!

Now, if I could just get my post count from the old TM, I’d be a really happy poster…

'Twas the Night Before Tryouts...

Twas the night before signing and all through the town
The managers were working with hearts in their throat.
Who would show at the field and what demands would they have?
Did the coach tell the truth or did the star fly the coop?
Did big red come calling or do we keep our hopes high?
The parents were drinking and calling each other - just making sure your kid would be there for sure, and hoping that nobody was being untrue.
Because for a year the contract holds true and the only thing worse than a year on the bench is a year with a Coach that sold your son out.

All through the metroplex not a player was resting - not even the best.
The coaches were watching open practices with care in hopes that an all-star soon would be there.
The parents were gathered all together in a group discussing the latest rumors of who flew the coop.
And DOC in his shorts and I in my chair, had settled our differences for the good of all there.
When out on the field there arose such a clatter, I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the manager I ran like a flash, turned him around and proceeded to ask.
The lights on the field of the newly cut grass gave the luster of midday from a rainstorm that passed,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a minivan loaded with eight of my kid's peers.
With their hated and feared coach, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment this guy makes me sick.
More rapid than expletives, his coursers they came, and he clapped and shouted and called them by name:
"Now Timmy! Now Tommy! Now, Kellen and Griffin! On, Justin! On Jerrad! On, Mathew and Dillon! To the top of the league! To the best team of all. Now sign today! Sign today! Sign today all!

And then, after a moment, he opened the door grabbing some papers up off the floor.
As I took off my hat and was turning around, onto the field he came with a bound.
He was dressed in some sweats, the latest design...and some of the moms, they commented on his behind.
A bundle of uniforms he had flung on his back, and he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
He was cool as could be, a little bit cocky, and I could feel the bile rise up inside me. A wink of his eye and a twist of his head soon gave me to know I had everything to dread. He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work...handed out contracts, then turned with a jerk;
Laying his finger next to the bottom line...giving each kid a nod, having each player sign.
Then he walked to his car, to his team gave a shout;
And away they all went with nary a doubt.
And I heard him exclaim, 'ere he drove out of sight,
"Good luck to y'all, hope your team is all right!"

One of my alltime favorites. Christmas in July.

I am just happy to have my original sign on name. I will work on my post count later, just 2000+ to go.

I'm just trying to keep up with you Tru!

Third (and final) time to go through this and wouldn't you know, my bb isn't even gonna be here on July 1st!

Yep...haven't signed paperwork yet, but yes he does have a spot on a team...will be signing tonight.

well no response? is he on one of the 10 FCD teams or one of the many Texans teams or one of the 3 or 4 Andromeda teams or an independent?

socmom3, am I to assume that you are an OU fan, say it isn't so? Why are you holding out about your bb playing for Andromeda Red, oops........

Omega, top Texan team? Who ended up coaching anyhow, I lost track, is it Craft?

Are you guys gonna do Puma or Tut now that your tourny fell apart?
