I'm going with a split: game at Richland and rain at PHP.

Quite possible, as the league controls RC but has no say at PHP.afrankw wrote:gababa wrote:So, what do you think, games or rain ?

Re: 99 1st game of the spring season
Had a friend look at the Richland fields and said they looked in great shape and the sun was out. Have no clue about PHP.

Last season, when they shut down PHP, they shut down PHP - turf fields included. The German wrote:RC games will be played maybe some are moved and PHP the games on the turf field will be played and others cancelled.happyfeet wrote:Quite possible, as the league controls RC but has no say at PHP.afrankw wrote:gababa wrote:So, what do you think, games or rain ?

They practiced last night at PHP. Last fall when our games were cancelled Frisco Rec played on the turf.ntxsoccerchat wrote:Last season, when they shut down PHP, they shut down PHP - turf fields included. The German wrote:RC games will be played maybe some are moved and PHP the games on the turf field will be played and others cancelled.happyfeet wrote:Quite possible, as the league controls RC but has no say at PHP.afrankw wrote:gababa wrote:So, what do you think, games or rain ?

Re: 99 1st game of the spring season
We had a tournament a few weeks ago (yes I know it is weird a tournament that got played !!!) and at PHP they had cancelled the fields on grass but played the ones on the fake turf...

I'm hoping we play. I'm so ready to watch some good soccer. Basketball has sucked the life out of me.

Re: 99 1st game of the spring season
Looking at the 10 day forecast, they are predicting 60% chance of rain next Sat/Sun (Feb. 13/14). Also, there is a chance of rain every week day next week. Might be wise to go ahead and get tomorrow's games in.

I hijacked this from the 98 forum:
From the Chamber website:
Richland College
Update:
02/5/2010
Saturday games will play.
Field Changes
Field#11 moved to Field#6
Field#2 moved to Field#5
Please check field status prior to game time

Re: 99 1st game of the spring season
oh oh from the legacy tournament management (so would only richland college be open ?? That would be a first !):To All Legacy Freedom Cup Teams:
We have learned this morning that all the cites where the tournament was to play games have decided to close the fields due to wet field conditions and, in the cities assessment, prevent damage that would be caused by playing on them this weekend. Multiple alternative sites were contacted and unfortunately the response was the same from every venue. Our tournament staff went through multiple scenarios with the venues, up to and including Sunday only, small sided and limited playing time. Regrettably, the feedback each time was that the damage potential was too great.
The Legacy Freedom Cup staff is very disappointed in not being able to provide the tournament experience we had all wanted and hoped for. We extend our thanks and deep appreciation to the over 215 teams, players, parents and coaches, the army of volunteers who worked tirelessly on bringing the tournament to life, GLASA soccer as the hosting association, Adidas and all the sponsors and supporters of this great event that wanted and tried to enjoy a great weekend of soccer.
The Legacy Freedom Cup will be calculating all paid expenses and attempting to negate any non-incurred expenses and will be issuing the maximum refund possible, to all the teams. The exact amount will be forthcoming either later today or over the weekend. Historical obligation has been to refund 50% of the tournament fee. To continue the tradition of exceeding expectations, our goal is to go beyond that.
Again, on behalf of the Legacy Freedom Cup, we want to express our thanks for your support of the Legacy Freedom Cup Tournament.
With Thanks,
Nancy Lane
Tournament Director,
Legacy Freedom Cup

Re: 99 1st game of the spring season
The league is only using turf fields at PHP this weekend, so all of those are on for sure.

If you look at the Classic League schedule for 2/6 at PHP they are only using Turf Fields. They have no games scheduled on grass at PHP tomorrow.
PHP being cautious with DC around the corner???
