123 - Sporting always have driver's licenses available before the games for DOB verification, so I don't see what's is your problem.

My BB played Sporting earlier this year. His first comment after the game was that the forward had a mustache, but not a kid mustache, it was a black haired mustache. LOL....funny way to describe it, but I knew what he meant.

I thought about that. Honestly, I actually did & I am sorry if I offended anyone.

I would (and have) also describe others as fast, big, tought, etc with anonymity. However, describing a U13 player by virtue of his mustache... is, in fact, actually wrong on many more levels.

I've heard about this kid for a while now and it's getting old. Why hasn't anybody been able to prove anything?

Sporting United is much more balanced than last year. They don't need to depend solely on one player. Fresh faces dot the pitch. I don't recognize the new kids, but they are ballers. Very skilled with the ball. Comfortable holding, turning, passing, shooting, and taking opponents on 1v1. Big kids with speed, strength and good soccer IQ.

In the past, teams could swarm the big kid referenced. But this year, Sporting Utd has too many skilled players. Teams can't just focus on one player.

I don't see the point on focusing on only one player specifically when that team (Sporting United) has too many skilled players. For those that can't recognize the players that have been playing on their team since they qualified to D1. Every child is different, some grow quicker than others.

He's not even the best player on the team any longer. At least based on my observation of one match. There are 2-3 new kids, extremely skilled players with more speed. 1 is taller and sleeker and from my opinion, a much better player. I don't know where these players came from, but they are damn good. Having more talent allowed Sporting United to open the field, spreading possession instead of focusing on a single player.

When a team is dependent on one star player, the other teams swarm the kid. But when you have a multitalented squad, teams can't afford to just shadow one player. Sporting United in recent years couldn't buy goals. They always had a good defense, but had a really tough time scoring. This year, they've blown open the gates.

I've been watching 2001 born players for many years. I don't recognize these new kids. Just goes to prove some of the best players don't always come from Classic or SDL when they are younger.

Just to highlight Sporting United's turn-around;

FALL 2011/SPRING 2012 CCSAI CLASSIC LEAGUE
The finished 7th place when D1 had 20 teams.
Record 11 wins, 1 tie, 7 loses.
Goal differential of +11

They lost to all the top 10 teams (except Solar Red) and soundly beat the second tier teams. They gave up six goals in single matches against FCD Premier and FCD (Bazan) this season.


FALL 2012/SPRING 2013 CCSAI CLASSIC LEAGUE  
Sporting finished in 8th place with only 4 wins, 4 ties and 10 losses.
Their goal differential was a MINUS 18 goals.
Yup, they allowed 18 more goals than they scored.

Averaging 1 goal scored per game. Didn't enter the State Cup tournament.

This year, in only 3 games, they've already scored 9 goals (averaging 3 goals/game). Or 50% of their count over 18 games last year. At this trend, they'll finish with about 54 goals.

By any measure, their performance so far this year is astounding. Good coaching with new and improved players make a huge difference.
