dang... that's some crazy sh*t right there... I remember when Hulk's sister was kidnapped.... scary.
also noted this little tidbit from the end of the article...
Just two weeks before Santos' murder, Brazil's largest drug cartel promised a "World Cup of terror,"
not cool.

Hopefully people are safe during the World Cup. Even if I could afford the trip im not sure that I would attend (based on location).Slakemoth wrote:dang... that's some crazy sh*t right there... I remember when Hulk's sister was kidnapped.... scary.

And we have a few Parents who want to carry guns to Soccer games. (See FCD '00 vs. Mana thread). Crazy world we live in. Hum, I thought carrying to a sporting event is illegal.rantnrave wrote:And we have a few Parents who want to carry guns to Soccer games. (See FCD '00 vs. Mana thread). Crazy world we live in. Soccer Coach it's illegal to carry at professional, collegiate, and UIL sanctioned events. The FC Dallas soccer complex in Frisco is illegal to carry there due to their 30.06 signage. Richland soccer fields it is legal to carry there.

Re: Brazilian Footballer Decapitated
Usually public parks and soccer complexes are legal to carry in. Only way one would not be legal to carry in its if they had 30.06 signs posted at every single entrance to the complex. The 30.06 signage has to be correct text size and content to make it legal.

C'mon... are we really justifying bringing a loaded gun to a youth sporting event? PU-LEEZ !

@slakemoth we live in a right to carry state. can you give us your list of inappropriate places for a law abiding citizen to carry. no one has suggested to "arm yourself" for the game. but if you do carry are you suggesting to "disarm" before walking to the pitch?Slakemoth wrote:C'mon... are we really justifying bringing a loaded gun to a youth sporting event? yes a crazy person wanting to kill a bunch of kids would never go to a packed place like richland on saturday and commit crimes, would they? that "loaded gun" may just save many lives, i hope people are carrying....Slakemoth wrote:C'mon... are we really justifying bringing a loaded gun to a youth sporting event? I'm thrilled to know we have the "crazy person wanting to kill a bunch of kids" scenario covered.... along with the "Red Dawn invasion scenario", the "Al Qaeda hostage scenario", and many other realistic threats.
more concerned about the "parents losing their minds over a game and getting in a fight in the parking lot" scenario...
look I understand perfectly what state I live in... and what goes along with that.... doesn't mean I am on board with a bunch of people bringing loaded guns into a sports complex...

so you've forgotten sandy hook already, sad. 2nd, a chl holder is far less likely to shoot people up and seek confrontation, perhaps you should get to know a few before you stereotype. criminals will have no problem endangering others as they please...Slakemoth wrote:I'm thrilled to know we have the "crazy person wanting to kill a bunch of kids" scenario covered.... along with the "Red Dawn invasion scenario", the "Al Qaeda hostage scenario", and many other realistic threats.

Refs should call the game evenly, and parents wouldn't get upset.

yes, you're right.. I've completely forgotten Sandy Hook, and now I'm also aware that a chl holder is "far less likely" to shoot people and seek confrontation.... I'll just have to be satisfied with those odds.soccerisgood123 wrote:so you've forgotten sandy hook already, sad.

Not quite sure how this topic has created so many different points of discussion but @America my experience is that even in games where the refs call the game evenly, parents may still get upset.

Re: Brazilian Footballer Decapitated
since you lumped "crazy person" with "red dawn" and "AQ", its apparent you think that the likelihood of that happening is laughably remote. I don't and you shouldn't either...Slakemoth wrote:yes, you're right.. I love how everybody made all the parents feel so good about watching their BB or DD play soccer!!!!! Atleast now we know why there has been a larger than normal police presence at Richland and FCD.....

The larger police presence at Richland is from the brawl a few weeks ago. I haven't noticed any increased police presence in Frisco.

Re: Brazilian Footballer Decapitated
We need a soccer venue that separates the fans from the pitch and the team fans from each other so they go to different parking areas and are on the opposite side of the pitch from one another.AVillan12 wrote:I love how everybody made all the parents feel so good about watching their BB or DD play soccer!!!!! PASSION is deadly and most fans are able to manage their levels, but I would design a nutter section (seating area) for the most feisty fans so they can let loose without being ejected since they make for good entertainment and are not as "EVIL" as some suggest.
