Switching select teams Empty Switching select teams

We are new to Texas soccer and need to understand if it is possible to switch teams if a contract has already been signed due to conflicts with a coach.

You can get a release to play rec at anytime. If you want to join another select team, you will need coach to sign a release. If you have "cause" you can appeal to NTX Soccer with grievance

Is it possible?  Maybe!  If you are switching teams within the same club, your chances are much higher.  The coach still needs to release you and he can make it difficult for you if he wants.  You can always go to the Director of Coaching and see if he will help.

If you are trying to switch to a different club, your chances of release are pretty slim.  Usually the only time a coach will do this is if you have moved to an area farther away and can't make team practices/functions.

If you are looking to go back to rec, your chances are much higher but the coach still needs to release you and he can say "No!" just to be a jerk.

You will need a Release/Transfer form filled out from the link below.

You can go back to rec without the current coach's permission. But that is it for you. You probably paid for Select up front and you are in rec until next year.

Sorry, I was wrong on that part. You can go back to rec without a signature but that release means you can't sign with another team until next July.

It's not 100% impossible. I did it with my son between the Fall and Spring season. Just speak to the coach. In my case, we both agreed it was best for my son. He signed the release and my son signed with another team for the Spring season. (Will cost $25 to file the forms)

I mean you never know, he may sign the release, especially if the club already got paid.

It will come down to the coach. If you have a coach that is truly concerned about the player, he will generally sign the release.

If it is either about the money for him or your son is one of the best players on the team. He may not in fear of losing that money or having to face your son.

Keep in mind you are contractually obligated to pay the contract price even if you get released from playing they can still insist you pay off the remaining amount of contract. Then bring in another player and let them play for free. (actually you are paying for this other player)
