True. The club does need to be accountable for the quality of coaches....but this too is difficult. Coaches typically are not employed directly by the clubs as many might realize. Its part of the "whats wrong with youth soccer in NTX" problem that some are trying to solve - which is way more complex than just offering an attractive "sticker price" and flashy credentials.

What league will Colleyville Evolution be playing in this coming season?
The club will have teams in PPL and Classic. Nearly every age group for boys from 2003 on down has two teams, the top of which will also be in the Classic QT if not already in Classic (as are the current 05, soon to be 04 boys.) So I wouldn't be surprised if there will be three Evolution teams in Classic this fall, 2003, 2004, 2005.
Thats a pretty bold statement considering where they all finished,
03 teams
2nd PPL D1
17th PPL D5
04 teams
5th PPL D1
4th PPL D2
05 teams
8th CL D3 (needs to re-qualify)
13th PPL D2
Its more of a pipe dream than anything for them to make classic. I guess this statement is true, you get what you pay for.
I can easily see the 03 team making classic D3. Not sure about the other teams.

It turns out that Evo qualified boys' teams in three age groups this past weekend and the 4th age group is through to next weekend. Apparently it wasn't a pipe dream for them to make Classic. Evo was little, it is getting bigger, it will continue to get better. It's a great group of full-time, knowledgeable and capable coaches. Well done to all of them this past weekend.

Several teams had a LOT of luck with EASY brackets. Lets not even discuss the teams that got in with only 1 win. Give me a break.

That is my point! That 05 Evo team got in with 1 win and that came against a team fielding only 8 players.

FCD Lopez was another team getting in with only 1 win, last year they got in with 2 ties.

Really? Thats what you want to hang your hat on?
06s
Did not qualify for 2nd weekend
3) COLLEYVILLE
COLLEYVILLE EVO 3 1 2 0 3 6 9
05s
Both Qualified for D2/D3, with 1 win each (I guess it paid off that Classic is taking 40 05 teams)
2) COLLEYVILLE
COLLEYVILLE EVO 3 1 1 1 4 5 13
2) COLLEYVILLE
COLLEYVILLE EVO 3 1 2 0 10 8 13
04s
Qualified for 2nd weekend but will need to do better than 1 win, 3 goals for and 9 against in 3 games, if they want to keep that dream alive.
1) COLLEYVILLE
COLLEYVILLE EVO 3 1 1 1 3 9 13
03s
Solid team. Realistically the only team that could have a chance at winning D3
1) COLLEYVILLE
EVOLUTION 03B G 3 3 0 0 10 2 28
02s
Did not throw their hat into the ring
So yes I will stand behind my comment of a pipe dream. Outside of the 03 team all other teams are borderline Classic D3/PPL. Please remember to, PUFF PUFF PASS.

People like you are a prime example of everything that is wrong with Youth Sports, specially Youth Soccer. Calm down. We are talking about a bunch of kids here.....Quit living through your kid. The funny thing with Soccer around here is that on average, the higher the league/division your kid is in, the lower the class of the parents on those teams.....winner team -> loser parents is not the rule....but the correlation is definitely positive....

Wow, whats the matter, you can't handle the truth about your club? Do you need a tissue? Just because your coach has some bs licence and an English accent does not make your team/club great. You're probably one of those parents who feels everyone deserves a trophy just for showing up. Rec sign ups are still going on, you can register your bb now and you can save all that money you are wasting on club. With your savings you can use it for your habit, CHOP CHOP SNIFF.

My son has been a part of smaller and larger clubs, arrogance has poked it's ugly head in either type of club. I believe that high expectations can at times be misconstrued as arrogance.

I have to agree with you Rancho4C. Each team is unique in any club. Expectations are higher on some teams more than others but that is in any club. The larger clubs just have more teams so you may see more of this.

Re: Cost to Play for Club
Ok, on June 3, I stated my confidence that the 03 team would qualify. They are--and continue to be--- by far the class of the Evolution family at the moment. I have my fingers crossed the entire club does well as I want people to know that yes we do play some pretty good soccer over on the west side of I35. The 03 team has proven their qualifications. The rest of the teams still have work to do to garner the respect they would like.
I hope the other teams are as good as they think they are because it could be crushing to some players (and parents) to have qualified classic but because of favorable scheduling they actually are not as competitive this year. How is that good for anyone?
If the coaches and parents believe those teams deserve to be in classic and will be competitive then good luck to them. If there is any truth to the "detractors" thoughts, then I do feel for those boys.
My son plays for "a big club" but we are the unclaimed stepson for that organization so we have a small club feel. In the five or six years he has played with this club, I can count on one hand the number of parents that "gives youth soccer a bad name". Over 90% are hard working down to earth individuals who always seem to have very realistic expectations for our boys.
Each team has ability to create the atmosphere they want. Problem is no one is willing to stand up to the few who truly hurt the experience for the kids.
Stepping off soapbox. Where is my medal?

Buddy, you don't know who am I. Money has never been an issue for me. I have no need to talk about my credentials here. But maybe this is why I have no need to re-live my life through my kids. You on the other hand, just proved my point above with your sophomoric reply. I'm willing to bet anything that you probably have never achieved anything significant in sports in your life. Good luck living your sorry life vicariously through your child.

1st of all since when are we buddies? You dont know me and i dont want to know you. You either have a little brain or a little, well you know. Which one is it? You were beating your chest telling everyone how great your club is, now your telling everyone money is not an issue. So i know the answer to my question. Can we call you tiny? I just told the truth about your little club. Dont cry, does mommy need to hug you?

Chronic
I can not disagree on many of your points. We are a small but growing club. Our 04's have to continue to have bracket luck and hope to qualify at the weekend. 03's are a quality team. 05's have had some breaks.
But, your attacks on this club seem personal, juvenile and just plain desperate for attention. Get a life
