97 PPL Predictions 10/17
Group 1
Game of the Week
Monterrey (2-0) vs. TFC White (2-0) - It's a battle of unbeatens, with both teams having quite a bit to prove. Is Monterrey the favorite to win the league after arriving on the scene out of nowhere? Is TFC for real, and can they put a string of strong games together against the top teams? Monterrey hasn't shown any signs of letting up since August, and until they do, I have to stick with them. Monterrey 1-0.
TLSC (1-1) vs. Solar Silver (0-1-1) - Solar has yet to show that they can survive against this level of talent, and TLSC wants to get back to the top of the standings. TLSC will prevail 2-1.
FWU N Blue (2-0-1) vs. Nationals (0-1-1) - FWU seems to be on a mission to prevent their late season collapse from last year. Nationals will not stand in their way. FWU 3-0.
ASG (1-1) vs. Nationals FC (0-3) - ASG will take out some frustration on the Nats, who haven't scored a goal in three games. ASG 5-0.
Solar Gold (1-0-1) vs. Texas Xtreme (0-2) - Texas Xtreme hasn't won, but they have kept the score close in both games. Solar Gold won't be able to pull away, but they will pull out the win 2-0.
Group 2
Game of the Week
Blaze (2-1) vs. Boca Jrs (2-1) - Both teams began 2-0 but are coming off lopsided defeats, Blaze against Tigers 7-1 and Boca against McKinney FC 4-1. Neither team wants to drop to .500, so they will likely bring their best games. Both teams can score, but neither defends too well as evidenced by their goal differentials hovering around even. I see Boca with a slight advantage, 4-3.
Valencia (3-0) vs. Inferno (0-3-1) - Valencia will stay at the top of the standings, and their one goal allowed will not increase as they overwhelm Inferno 6-0.
Aces (2-0-1) vs. Celtic United (1-2) - The Celtics were shut out by Valencia and FWU N White to start the season, but picked up a win in their last game, a 2-0 shutout of Inferno. Aces will run their unbeaten streak to four games with their usual smothering defense, 5-0.
McKinney FC (1-1-1) vs. HPSA Scots (1-3) - The Scots will have trouble getting shots on goal in this game, as the McKinney defense is just too tough. McKinney 3-0.
Tigers (3-0) vs. FWU N White (1-2) - The Tigers stay unbeaten with a 6-1 win. Will there be any challengers for them this Fall, or is everyone else playing for second place?
FCD White (1-2) vs. Texas Blitz (0-2-1) - After two tough opening losses, FCD finally got on track with their 3-2 victory over the Scots. They should have little trouble with the Blitz, and will win 3-1.
Let's hear it for the sun!

Re: 97 PPL Predictions 10/17
Maybe if we cheer for the sun it'll be shining bright when PPL checks the fields at 6:00 in the morning to see if we get to play or not.
