Re: Puma Cup Predictions
Yes sir!!any idea why they passed on challenge tourney? My guess was to still iron a few wrinkles in their overall development . If so, I find it extremely admirable. Some clubs(teams) get a few wins under their belt and immediately want to her that next level !! IMHO , but , lol I don't know squadush:)

Re: Puma Cup Predictions
Barca squeaks it out.
Wizards makes it look easy.
Don't know the last two to make any prediction

Question is who did they replace them with. Wizards lost two key players that were a big part of them reaching div 1. One went to Texans South and the other to Barcelona. Should be fun though.

Re: Puma Cup Predictions
Great! Should be an easy tourney for Barca. They were mid-pack D1 last year and should finish top 3 this year if they replaced their losses effectively. '99 D1 Classic League is a shell of itself from the U11 days...

Re: Puma Cup Predictions
I think one of these teams that "lost players," i.e. Barca or FCD Lopez may just surprise the big guys by coming together really well.
My thinking: at this age, the guys still playing are playing for the right reasons, and it doesn't take the teams as long to gel anymore.
And sometimes those "studs" are a distraction...teams win games.
Thoughts?

Re: Puma Cup Predictions
the answer is barcelona will not be the same this season, the wizard pick up was good for them but the others werent even close to the talent lost.Riquelme wrote:finish1 wrote:How many players did Barca lose this year?

Re: Puma Cup Predictions
fcd lopez lost 8 or 9 solid players but dint pick up what they lost either so they will battle to stay in d1 also.Soccerinsanity wrote:I think one of these teams that "lost players," i.e. Barca or FCD Lopez may just surprise the big guys by coming together really well.

Truth is no team will be the same. Not sure who Wizards picked up but you are right that it wont replace the two that were lost. One of those was a striker who accounted for 24 goals last season. That player went to Barcelona. That pre-academy sucked the life out of this division.

Re: Puma Cup Predictions
I was thinking of previous years where there's always a disappointment and then always a surprise. Last year, FCDP was supposed to run the show and Connell was supposed to be the guy lacking players...
Stands to reason, while I don't think Barca/FCDLopez will win the division, they may do better than expected...

Re: Puma Cup Predictions
Or, Barca will sorely miss the player's it lost and will finish mid-pack, again. Over the years, even back to the rec days, that team has had a lot of quality players. They are doing something right.
FCDP was expected to run the show last year? That makes 3 years in a row it didn't happen. Agreed that DTR was the big surprise.
Top 5 will be SR, DT, DTR, DTS and Barca.

Is this your top 5 in sequential order for the upcoming season? What about the other 5 teams? Anyone care to share their predictions? Any surprise predictions?

Re: Puma Cup Predictions
this year will be the top 3 show,DTS,DTR and SR will all battle it out for top dog supremacy followed by FCD central and FCD premier, those two FCD teams kept most of their players and just added a few new solid additions! now 6-10 will fight to stay in D1, i do believe barcelona will be at the top of that list thoughJoker wrote:finish1 wrote:Or, Barca will sorely miss the player's it lost and will finish mid-pack, again. Didn't most of Marcio's good kids move elsewhere? Either PA or to Connell?

Yep, you're right OS. Talk about a shell of its' former self, DT was a national contender back in the U11 days (Finalist in the Las Vegas Cup). That was a team full of starters! I like your top 3.
