@socmom97, are there really 58 teams in the QT this year or were you just throwing out a number? If so, that's a lot!
@krowdkontrol, Thanks for the links!

Awesome! I guess a lot of coaches believe what we've been saying on this thread and others. A lot of spots are up for grabs, and it's more wide open than in recent years.

That is a huge amount of teams. With only 30 making it to Classic, then 28 will be going home empty handed. Do you have a list of the 58 teams that is public or you could link to?

I dont think the top 2 brackets would have 3 teams. In that case they would play crossover? So that would mean #1 and #2 would play each other? Or would they play the 2 other teams in their group and the lowest seed from the opposite? Either way #58 avoids the top 2 seeds. If they zig zag and skip the last two brackets coming back to the first, then the last 2 brackets would have 3 each. 14,17,44 in one and 15,16,45 in the other. Does anyone know for a fact the way it will be done?

Re: QT Top Seed Rankings Post King Tut and Puma Cup
All will become clear by Sunday evening when schedules are released.
I know that last year, they had 50 teams and they did 13 brackets. The top 2 brackets had 3 teams each and the other 11 brackets had 4 teams.
The 3-team brackets only played the other 2 teams in their bracket. After 2 games each, the 1st place team went to D1 and the other 2 teams played the 2nd weekend. I don't remember how they did the seeding, but I think it would have been 1, 26, 27 in Group A and 2, 25, 28 in Group B.
As an aside, it seems that socmom97 has firsthand knowledge and confirmed 58 teams, but I did receive a separate e-mail from someone else that there were 60 teams and would be placed in 15 groups of 4. Maybe there's been some miscommunication somewhere along the way, but all will become clear on Sunday evening.

Schedules will be released on Sunday. I will confirm there are 15 brackets. 13 having 4 teams and 2 having only 3. There will be NO crossover brackets. I know this as I am the U11 Comissioner. Please don't call/email me as schedules are not final. Seeding has been done and NO we won't release an accepted team list. The managers will receive information on Saturday as to how many teams will be eliminated the first week. I know you are all wanting more information but right now that is all I am able to provided. @tomuchsoccer you are close. Good luck to everyone during QT.

Re: QT Top Seed Rankings Post King Tut and Puma Cup
This will make it interesting to know how the teams are eliminated and who plays the second week. If there are 15 brackets and the bracket winners are the first 15 in D1, that leaves 43 teams. If you drop the last place in each bracket up to 13, then you have 30 teams left for the second week. Normally, the brackets of three teams do not lose a team the first weekend.
So if there are 30 teams the second weekend, you need 5 more D1 teams and 10 D3 teams, with 15 teams still not making it in. The seeding for week 2 will be more important than week 1 for the teams in the 15-30 range. Not sure how many brackets they would have for week two as they only need 5 more for D1. May go on points alone and not who wins the bracket.
Will be sure to login on Sunday night to check the schedules and pontificate on the seeding.

What I have heard is that 28 teams will be eliminated the first week. Now what im not sure of is how the Round 2 brackets will be done. I would think then Round 2 will have 5 groups of 3 and the winner of each group gets the remaining 5 D1 spots.

That makes the most sense. First weekend determines classic league spots--finish first or second to get 30. Second weekend determines placement for the 15 second place teams.

That's going to make for a helluva presssure filled weekend... you only get once chance at Classic, not the normal two.
Although I did like the idea of having two weekends to get in, almost as a "consolation" of having a few more games before you're eliminated.
