ODP NC Regional Invitational
Preparations being made for the NC Regional invitational.Great for the younger boys to see talent from another part of the US that at their age might not have gotten to see yet. I think it's also fascinating to see the elite players from Georgia and Florida and how our boys contend with them.
Another aspect of ODP that I like is that in this group we have a team of players who practice with each other every so often but being forced to play together as a team. I believe their individual strengths are shown while also showcasing their instincts because they aren't playing with boys they train with 5 days a week or so like DA or PA.
And I thought the price was reasonable. $655 for airfare room and board to North Carolina. Is that comprable to what a club would charge for a tournament this far away? $300 if you decide to drive yourself.
I just wonder what weather conditions are like in NC on January 5th????

NC Event
Since you know the cost of the trip does that mean that they have chosen who is on the roster?

Yes. The 00B roster was announced via email on Tuesday.

Weather will be comparable to North Texas.
Technical level of North Carolina ODP teams, much higher than the average player in NTX ODP!
You'll have fun, tough!

Re: ODP NC Regional Invitational
Subregional event is in the books. Georgia had a strong team. Virgina also had a strong team with some players that had a set of wheels in them. Great experience for the 00 boys. I watched some of the 99 boys games and they had to struggle against some strong teams. I didn't get a chance to see any other age groups.. Sunday morning games wer very sloshy and slippery. The boys got in waaaaaay too late Friday night/Saturday morning! Hopefully those are lessons learned for NTSSA.
All in all a great experience.

Curiousity piqued...how did the 2000s do? What's the format in the subregionals? Thanks for any information.
