Anyone have any field/game status to share since the showers have returned?

All games cancelled

The entire U13 challenge group is now 2 games behind. It will be interesting to see if they can get these rescheduled for later today. I'm sure the fields are already packed with games.

The weather has made this a real challenge. The original schedule was great with 1 game each on Sat, Sun and Mon. Games are really going to have to be bunched together to get the 1st round done on Monday. Fitness, endurance and injuries are going to be major factors now affecting 1st round results.

Wonder if they can do a Tues or Weds night game for the games cancelled today. Certainly wouldn't want 3 games on Monday.

guessing some teams might have players with conflicts at that point, especially east texas and amarillo.

Good point. I guess brackets A & B might need to be squeezed in this evening some time, or have a 3 game day tomorrow. All the other brackets look like they could be done Tuesday or Weds maybe.

We'll see what the schedulers can come up with. Do they have access to any other fields besides Richland and UTD?

Looks like they are getting them in today. Most of them at 3:45pm at Richland. Check the schedules.

Games rescheduled!!! The U13 games (for the tournament, not for the challenge) have been moved from 12:30 to 11:50, and from 6:30 to 3:10.

Just had a schedule change so that may be something to stay up on. I'm not liking this.....scrambling and rushing doesn't usually turn out good.

keep your eyes on the schedule and the skies. Let's hope we get them all in today.

If you look at the schedule, games are 50 minutes from each other.

That has to stink... Perhaps if they limited the number of teams in the Challenge so that the regular season meant something, they wouldn't be so squeezed for fields for the regular tournament.

I don't think they reduced the playing time for the Challenge teams.

Why would they want to limit the number of teams in the challenge cup? They went from @6-8 teams per age group to @24-25! They are generating an additional $70,000 by moving to this format. As you can see by the dwindling number of teams in the regular tournament, this is an easy way to raise revenue. But they will tell you it is just about the kids...

they should not have organized the challenge tournament and the regular tournament at the same time. with the challenge tournament extended to all the age groups, the number of teams partecipating would have been already very difficult to menage. add to those the rest of the teams partecipating to the regular KSMD tournament on the same fields and what you get, it's total craziness. but I agree, tons of money!!!

Some games running 90 minutes late. Would have been nice to have some notice.
