Fall Season So Far
6 games into the Fall season & there are 5 teams with just 1 win, 2 of the top 5 teams are from D2. Looks like this year is pretty much open to whoever wants it.

Re: Fall Season So Far
LP Rush holding steady at #1. Only loss was to Solar Red 3-2.
Sporting so far's leaving little doubt that they should be in D1.
Mexico lost to LP Rush, but so has 5 other teams.
Andromeda's okay, beat #10 Ayses 1-0 & previously tied LP Owen 1-1.
Ayses are still in it, seeing that there are 4 teams with only 2 wins and 2 other teams with only 1 win.
DTS has come alive with 2 straight wins. A surprising win yesterday vs. Solar Red 3-1.
FCD Pino has improved.
FCD Gonclaves has the least goals scored.
LP Owen has moved to #9, but if they can edge Sporting next Thursday, that should be a confidence booster.
LP Rush at this point is clearly the best team out.
With all of these players leaving their teams for PA, maybe Golazo02 and Davito who both stated that CL is "watered down" were correct.

Re: Fall Season So Far
I heard DTS brought some DT PA players to the game against SR and that probably helped. I expect them to start climbing the standings.
But, the league is still wide open and everyone still has a chance to be at the top in May.
I think it probably comes down to LP Rush, Solar Red, Andromeda and DTS at the end of May.

DTS bringing PA players to help them win.
Does that mean that FCD, Solar, & Andromeda are going to start bringing their PA players? How does that work?

Re: Fall Season So Far
Andromeda already has some kids that play PA and Classic. Not sure about FCD but Solar doesn't yet.
Not sure how it works with the roster, but it does seem to be an option.
Have no idea if any other teams will start adding additional players.

FCD Pino does also.
Didn't see their game this weekend, but against LP Owen & DTS, Pino had PA players.

Will suck for the players that will be benched in favor of PA players, though.
IMO, this whole "developing players" crap that's always spouted is just that, crap.
It's about winning and staying in D1.

I couldn't agree more. I hate the CL format. I don't think it is good for our kids or US soccer long term.

Oh, I'm sure that there are coaches that are all for development, but they're probably still in Arlington or Plano, getting their best talent sniped by the CL teams.
And why wouldn't a stud player (or parent) in APL or PPL not want to jump to a CL team and their promises of future glory?
Big clubs with Classic League teams want to see quick results, not development.
CL coaches are pressured to show results in the standings or risk losing their jobs, team, or stud player to a team with a better record or higher division.
The parents are slightly to blame for the pressure, especially from teams who have parents that refuses to shut up and quit instructing (not encouraging) their BBs from the sidelines.
If a coach FINALLY steps up and tries to quash this nonsense, he's setting himself up for a mutiny if that team drops down a division.

Re: Fall Season So Far
My '98 BB's team from last year is a prime example of £#%¥ hitting the fan.
His team had about 8 kids that ALWAYS showed up to practice. His coach who took over the team didn't give a rat's butt, because his studs were there for the games.
Parents constantly bickered and coached on the sidelines.
We were thrown off the sidelines before.
Our parents bad attitudes reflected on SOME of the kids' bad attitudes to the referrees.
In the end, we lost, got relegated to DII and broke up because the majority of the parents, not the kids trust me, did not want to be sitting in DII.
My BB wanted to go to DII & take his lumps, even though he had offers from 2 DI teams.
Hopefully this is a warning to you '02 parents that this can happen to your team also.

Re: Fall Season So Far
Having PA players on the roster is something that is already being done this season. Andromeda has PA players playing CL. I'm with Sprint that I'm not sure if FCD had PA players playing CL and I didn't see any PA players playing with Solar. I believe even LP has players that are playing both CL and NPL. Yes I know NPL isn't PA but it's also a highly competitive league that will consist of LP top players. I can see where playing time can be a problem if you bring additional players to an already full roster but when you have roster availability why not. In the case of DTS 2 players stopped playing for various reasons which created 2 roster spots.

DTS's roster wasn't full to begin with.
I still know folks from DTS.
CL isn't that big.
LP parents recognized the FCD PA player (not naming position) that played against Owen.
DTS parent(s) recognized the FCD PA player that played against them.
I guess you didn't, right sir?
But you are correct.
Let's not cry PA foul, if LP's full of NPL players.
After all, NPL is supposed to be on par with PA.
Right?
That's 2 to 3 CL practices a week , plus 1 Sunday NPL practice.

For the record>>> the PA players playing for Pino are 03's. No advantage for Pino there.

They're '03 PA players?
That is impressive sir.
But since I can honestly say that my knowledge of PA age grouping is limited, how are they considered PA '03 if there's no PA for U-12 this year?
Again, I apologize for stepping outside of my field of knowledge.
I am not knocking Pino's team or DTS.
Actually, I was rationalizing why these clubs should play PA players, since NPL players play both.
Good luck next weekend.
Cheers!

Re: Fall Season So Far
Right there is no Texas PA league for U-12's (probably why they are playing up) but there is still U12 PA teams. Looks like club is trying to get the younger ones some experience playing tougher competition.

Does anyone know what happened in the DTS vs Solar game? Was really as lopsided as 3-1 suggests?

was not there but heard Solar was up 1-0 at half. DTS goals came on set pieces all in second half.

Not sure how that would work since Andro's U13 PA team = is Andro 02 Red in PPL2. Maybe members from Andro's DA team?
For PA it's U13, U15, U17, and
For DA it's U14, U16 & U18.
Definitely confused...

Andromeda's U13 PA team is an 01 birth year team. http://npltexas.demosphere.com/schedules/71667984/71668032.html
Some of those kids are born in late 01 so also 02 Classic league players and play on both teams.
PA is U13 and U15
DA is U13/14, U15/16, U17/18.

Re: Fall Season So Far
I don't think a score of 3-1 suggests a lopsided game. Both teams had opportunities to score but it appears one team did a better job of taking advantage of them. Solar is a very good team as you can see by their record. It was a very good game.

Thank you for the reply. I didn't know what took place but most 3-1 games are often not that close. Glad to hear it was competitive.

Re: Fall Season So Far
Age for PA/DA is different than Classic.
PA/DA is birth year Janurary 01 forward
Classic is Aug 01 to Jul 02
Example:
U13 Classic is Aug 01, 2001 to June 30, 2002
U13 PA is Jan 01, 2001 and later.
In PA you will have 14 year olds playing U13....Makes no sense, but this is how it is set up. If you have a Jan 15, 2001 birthday you would play U13 for PA and U14 for Classic. (ODP is the same wa).
