Gameplan for 05's on 05/04 select teams

Shasta, it's not looking good for your '05 BY kids who want to play U12 DA next year. They might as well stay home.

Not sure about ANY, but based upon history, it is doubtful very many kids will play up into the 03DA next year.  You can look at the current rosters of the 3 DA clubs now and of the U14 and U16 teams there seem to be very few kids playing up onto these teams.  I don't think it would be shocking, it would be the typical course of things for very few kids to play up into the DA.

But at the end of the day, that is why the coaches get the big bucks to make these roster decisions and playing time decisions. We are all just a bunch of dads pontificating in the wind. Good luck to the 05, 04 and 03 making the jump to DA next year.

Maybe, but here is the TEXANS U15/U16 current DA roster and not one Full time 00 player

The difference seems to come at U17/U18 when the younger age kids make an impact with the team and get more playing time.

Lol, I have probably been misinformed.......There are more spots available for the U12 Academy group than the U13 group so the 05's definitely have a better shot at playing up this next year than the 04's do. 26 players among two teams for Solar(Solar doesn't even have any 05 teams), Texans, and FC Dallas...I think you will see some 05 kids being selected to play in the U12 USSDA age group or maybe I do not know what I am talking about.....

Now the question is....Do these 05s want to play up in USSDA, up in Classic league to U13, or play in their age group U12 in the Classic league? I don't know what the right answer is...There will be 05's with these options...or maybe there won't. I don't know.

You're exactly right, Shasta. Don't be mislead by a single snapshot in time regarding the DA system and a comparison that doesn't apply.

Solar will have 3 teams in BY05 next season, but that's probably not what you meant :-)
Unless some kids drop from their soon-to-be 03 rosters, the 04 pool for Solar will be slim...

Again, I said there could be '05's playing up, but just taking a snapshot at the current landscape of the 3 DA clubs doesn't encompass the entire '04 age group. I would think you will have '04 players from other clubs interested. But to your point, as I said earlier, I believe most of the top players in U12 CL are '03 BY kids, so there are many spots to fill in U12DA.
