Will you be attending the ECNL tryouts @ LiverPool?
Boys ECNL teams from NTX
Based on the boys ECNL website, conferences are made up of 15, 12, 12, 9 and 8 (TX) - are they adding more from NTX, or is Liverpool the only option in NTX? I have heard DT, Solar, FCD were not invited or there were choices to be made that they did not want to make to gain entry (PA/DA etc).
If they are the only option, thoughts (or see poll)?
Without PA/DA, is this just another flower (sorry... money) grab - is it relevant and will they attract top talent to compete? Of course, club dues would be vital information. Girls ECNL is what, $4-6K, plus travel?
Of course coaching is the critical component, assuming they adopt a 4-5 training session a week - sounds like a good option - but again, will this only serve the players not good enough for PA/DA/Pre-Academy (or top flight D1 Classic teams) and turn into a lower D1/D2 lite? Or another Boys NPL team made up of the highest level classic team, plus a couple others? How should we look at Boys ECNL in the NTX landscape?
Obviously it is early and not much is any information is out there for public consumption, but heard "tryouts" begin this month and no release is needed - true? We Wouldn't want to ask for practice release in April

great question, one of many, I do not know the answer to. I hope not, but that is why I compared it to NPL.

Re: Boys ECNL teams from NTX
ECNL will not be allowed to play DA. They are supposed to be a step up from CL. ECNL will play in a similar league as the DA. The major difference is that ECNL can play HS soccer whereas DA you can not.
My understand is that the offer to Texans,Solar, FCD is there for ECNL. They already have Girls ECNL teams. The question is so the clubs have enough coaches with the appropriate license to coach ECNL or DA. Are there enough teams to have both boys/girls teams for ECNL and DA. CL will be even more watered down

Re: Boys ECNL teams from NTX
We will be hosting an ID event soon. Players not registered with US Club can attend without a release. If they are we shall see them after state cup (open season). As a club we are excited about this opportunity. If you have any questions please contact ECNL director Tom Blencoe 2547229141.

@Soccer27 - Great to hear about HS playing with ECNL. It'll be interesting if other NTX teams join the fold in ECNL or what that landscape looks like.
Thanks to Tom for the clarification on the practice release. LP should be stoked at this opportunity for sure. Are you able to divulge the coaches for the teams and typical training sessions (3,4,5 times a week etc)? Are they all run out of BS in Colony?
