Do you know what if any teams / clubs Liverpool is targeting this year?go99 wrote:after liverpool buys up the club, it will get the spots.

Hm, with the changes around here, I don't think Liverpool has to target. I think the Andro coaches must be knocking on every door they can find.

Re: Classic League
My question was more along the lines of are there any other clubs that have coaches actively seeking change? Any rumors, other than Andro, of clubs folding and moving elsewhere?whyme wrote:Hm, with the changes around here, I don't think Liverpool has to target. Someone mentioned Gunners and Tyler...but I personally hope not. Those are two teams that actually play within the rules

There MO has to been to target coaches not clubs. My understanding is the entire CC deal was just to get
"certian" coaches. The andro deal would be for the fields and a spot at the AL table. If anything else, I would expect LP to make a play on a ENCL club. They are dominating in the lower ages of LHGCL but will lose their top teams soon without a spot.

Already is! Parents are scrambling and calling everyone they know to ask about potential openings.

Yep, the winner is in and the loser is out. I recall someone from the Aztecas saying that team could hang with anyone in D3, all of D2 and maybe the bottom of D1. It seems to be a struggle to promote outside of Arlington...

I do think they can hang with those teams. Here are the Azteca's results from the President's Cup
4/3/2011 FC DALLAS YOUTH FC DALLAS 99B RED (TXN) Won 3-2
4/2/2011 SOLAR 99 (TXN) Lost 2-3
4/2/2011 AZZURRI FC NAPOLI 99 BOYS (TXN) Won 2-0
They beat a D3 and D2 team and lost to a D2 team.
I think the top Arlington teams can hang with anyone in D3 and D2 and would be a competitive challenge for the lower half of D1 (meaning they would not just roll over because it is a D1 team).

Re: Classic League
Those teams are not very far from you. Tyler took the last place spot in D2. FCD Red is in the middle of D3 and has a negative goal differential. Your posted loss was to a team in the middle of D2. Even that is a hike from the bottom of D1.
Your last Arlington game is against your nemesis, TX Lightning. They have the league's stingiest defense and haven't given up a goal since February. A loss to them on 4/30 stamps your return trip ticket back to Arlington next year. Not trying to deflate the balloon, just adding perspective to your claims...

You have me mixed up as someone associated with the Aztecas which I am not. My orginal statement about hanging with those teams refered to all three teams at the top of Arlington, not just one of them.
FWU results are:
6/26/2010 ANDROMEDA 99 BOYS D3 Won 1-0
6/26/2010 WIZARDS FC 99 D2 Tied 2-2
6/25/2010 BARCELONA SC 99 D1 lost 1-5
11/20/10 Manchester FC 2nd in Plano Tied 2-2
11/20/10 Tornados 99B White D3 Won 2-0
11/21/10 United D3 won 1-0
11/21/10 Texas Titans D1 lost 2-1
TXL 99B Black: I don't have time to look, will do it later.
My point was those three teams could hang with the classic league teams, not beat them all. D3 they have a good chance of winning, D2 could go either way, D1 would make a competitive opponent. Inconsistency is their main problem but they are all getting better. The reason it is tough to get out of Arlington is becasue they are beating each other and no one can pull away.

Re: Classic League
just want to throw something out there...... tournaments don't mean sh$t too many "guest players" and players on "vacation" the small clubs will bring on guest players to get a win to "promote" their status for recruiting purposes and yes they do it so don't deny this and big clubs will bring on guest players to see who they can "use" and "kick off" lol!

I been around too long and seen this stuff time after time about what i mentioned about guest players I don't make this stuff up it's just facts.wareagle wrote:omega striker wrote:just want to throw something out there...... tournaments don't mean sh$t too many "guest players" and players on "vacation" the small clubs will bring on guest players to get a win to "promote" their status for recruiting purposes and yes they do it so don't deny this and big clubs will bring on guest players to see who they can "use" and "kick off" lol!

I understand the whole guest player bit but these teams have not been using them and yes they did get a shot at the QT but both FWU and TXL have had significant roster changes since then and are much better teams. The Azteca's did not play in the QT this is their first year of competitive ball. They were an independent team prior to this year.
I don't know if any of them will win their way into classic but according to the tourney results they are talented enough to hang with classic league teams.
