Re: Spring 2013 04 Boys
So lemme see if I understand you. It matters who pays the bill? By that token, everyone better start learning where the virgule (/) is on their keyboard and get real familiar with it. We are going to have to start including keeper coaches, skills coaches, and Paradigm, etc, in teams' names. This could get messy ...

No...just giving credit and a well deserved mention to a fellow player. ferdie is great with kids. Maybe some other teams might want to hire him as a team instead of individual skills. Helps when everyone is on the same page. Don't make something this is not Bunited

I think I must not be the brightest I can't tell if the two of you are discrediting the third ranked team or endorsing the team.
Since it seems to have generated some opinions [I love opinions, especially when BUnited gives them] I wonder of the top 10 teams how many of the teams employ other coaches for skills, assistants, speed, goalie? If so how often?

Hasn't this been discussed on here before?
other coaches at our practice: basically every practice we have 2 coaches and the kids move between them in various groups.
Skills: done at practice, but no specific coach is brought in. Pretty sure our coach can demonstrate the skills moves required. That being said, a good number of our kids do skills separate from team practice practice, but these sessions are usually done with at least 2 to 6 players from the team.
speed: we do certain drills in practice, but no outside coach brought in for this. If I my son wanted to be in track, he would do it. Actually my son does run 5k's. But speed / agility drills are done.
If you want a skills coach who incorporates agility, speed, strength, etc. into his sessions, I know of a very good one.

Me? Opinions? Nah ...
Clearly I cannot speak to all teams, but I do know that Liverpool employs fulltime keeper coaches at no added expense to players, usually one keeper per team. I am sure others will speak up if they know this to be true at the youth academy level at their club or specific team. Obviously, as whatthe stated, Solar Farley/Ferdie/Keisha/MJP/Blue Sky/City of The Colony/County of Denton/State of Texas/Country of USA/North American Continent/Planet Earth/Milky Way Galaxy, etc., also takes this approach.
And no, I am definitely not maligning #3, lest the masses rise up against me and blow up my inbox. I have no time for such things, as I am busy licking the wounds inflicted by our team's shocking relegation to 2nd based on ... well I am not clear on that yet. But anyhoo, shocked, dismayed, rewriting my will, all that good stuff.

Don't make us blow up your inbox!!
I'm not clear why your team was moved to second either - did you beat a common opponent by fewer goals??

That's alright, RJ, I made sure my inbox is 100% full so nothing gets thru
The demotion, I believe, had something to do with us losing to "an" FCD '03 team 2-1 and SR winning 5-1 vs "an" FCD '03 team. Clearly, they are the better team. I mean, that's as good as anything I guess, or not. I just don't know. Still ... finding ... it ... hard ... to ... breathe .......
Okay okay, JK 4TLG. I'm just messin' with ya.

I got it....based on the lack of a supplemental skills coach?

There are two games featuring top 10 teams
Liverpool RASE vs Solar Chelsea Tarrant - too familiar foes, I expect Liverpool RASE to win by 2 plus goals.
DT South vs Solar Dynamo 05 - this will be another barometer game for DT South. I expect for them to win by a goal or two.

The Texans South team was very good. No disrespect to any of the other 04 teams we have played, but they may have been the best team we have played to date. They moved the ball well, were fast, and could shoot from ANYWHERE on the field. I think they will give these other 04 teams some very good competition. Just my opinion.

Some very juicy matchups this week, plus several teams are playing multiple games
***Game of the week***
#2 Texans Pomykal vs #4 Odyssey (Friday night) These two teams battled hard last season to a tie if I remember. I expect these two teams to battle hard again. Both teams defenses are weak and will struggle to contain each teams top player. I am predicting an upset and Odyssey wins 4 to 3 behind the strength of #xx
Other top games this weekend
#1 Solar Red vs DT Lopez/Badii (Saturday) this game could go either way. Both played FCD Premier tough in the past couple of months, I am going to say Solar Red wins by 1 goal
#2 DT Pomykal vs Solar Dynamo 05 this is a complete mismatch. I expect the backups to get a lot of playing time and DT wins by 5+ goals
#3 Solar Chelsea Farley vs #7 FC Dallas Gomez which FC Dallas teams shows up. Is it the team that lost to Liverpool RASE or is it the team that tied DT Pomykal. I am predicting Solar wins by 2+ goals
#4 Odyssey vs Azurri another mismatch. Odyssey wins by 5+ goals
#5 DT Gall vs Solar Chelsea Tarrant Gall DT Gall will be too tough for Tarrant and win by 3+ goals
#5 DT Gall vs #7 FC Dallas Gomez another great game and a measuring stick for Gall. I think FC Dallas will prove to have too much offensive fire power and win this game by 2+ goals
#6 Liverpool RASE vs Solar Partain this is the type of game Solar Partain has to win to get back into the top 10. These two teams tied last season. But I think LP RASE has improved more than Solar Partain has. LP wins by a goal
#8 Texans FW vs #10 DT South a battle of the top two teams from the silver division of EAL. One of these teams will prove to be true threat, the other will prove that they don't belong in the top 10. I am predicting a mild upset and DT South wins by 2 plus goals
#9 DT Manchester vs FC Dallas Waters Predator this FC Dallas team is not very good, expect DT Manchester to win by a couple goals.
After this weekend we will know a lot more about these teams. It's going to make for a great weekend of soccer

4TLOG, you just broke the code of conduct on the blog. We don't call out specific players on the boards. It's a slippery slope that can lead to trouble. Rank your teams if you must, but don't identify specific players...

I have been told before that numbers are ok. Did the rules change? Names are not but numbers are ok was exactly what I was told.

Identifying a specific player by name or number is not a good idea. Those types of conversations can go either way and if we start doing that, we're going to have problems...
