I just happened to be wondering around a tourney in Tucson last month and was a bit surprised to come across a whole U8 team wearing Solar jerseys at the skills competition. I remember thinking "man, they are really into their U8 soccer". Was Solar Farley. The pieces...they fit.
w.r.t. confusion: I don't know anything about Solar Farley beyond the fact that I saw them at a tourney in Tucson in Jan. Going to Arizona for a tournament at this age seems like it makes you very into your U8 soccer. 4luvofgame seems very into U8 soccer. Somebody said her bb was on that team. So that seems to fit. No judgments. I just happened to be in Tucson on business with the Pot Kettle Black Corp.
As I actually grew up there, I can second the notion that you would have to be pretty "into" U8 soccer (or any age soccer for that matter) to head there for a tourney
As far as 4TLG, I believe previously stated was that said BB "tried out" for but did not make SF. Clearly still a bias there, though. In fact, I dare say that if they win their next game against the Might Mashers of North Lewisville, they may indeed be our new #1 next week!
By any chance is Pot Kettle Black Corp hiring? I fear I may have stellar qualifications. PM if resume required.

Maybe 4luvofgame has family in Tucson and wants to make the next trip...

Yes, but still above Leite, which is absolutely asinine.

Re: 04 Boys Spring 2012
Glad we are having fun. As some of you who know me, my BB is not on Solar. I don't know any details about a trip to Arizona, but could think of worse things to do then get out Dallas in January and head to resort town.
As with my rankings - would welcome any others opinions. Having seen every team play (either my BB playing against in the case of most or watched the other games) that is on the rankings I have somewhat of an educated opinion. If you dont like the rankings do your own due diligence and provide an alternate ranking, otherwise enjoy the entertainment and stop whining cause your team isnt ranked higher.

Re: 04 Boys Spring 2012
I have a suggestion. Instead of these "rankings," why not just stick to what we do at the other ages, which is simply get posters' input on who will do what any given weekend. Just post the upcoming games in each league and let those who like comment on their picks. These rankings are so far off in so many respects, not just because you are attempting to rank across leagues and age groups, but you are not going to get anyone to bite because most know you need to wait until late U9, preferably U10, before posting these opinions, even for "fun."
So how 'bout it. I will give you an "A" for effort and staying power, but put the shovel away and quit digging. Take the lead and post the weekly games and your predictions (I believe you have done this before; unfortunately, it was preceded by the omnipresent "rankings") and leave it at that. Everyone will check in with how they did.
Unless you like all this drama?

Um..yeah, would not exactly qualify that as a resort town. Relative to say, Lagos, I'd rate Tucson as "a bit ghetto". No offense to Bunited who I'm sure grew up in a mansion in the foothills or in the bay of a B-52G at the airplane graveyard.

I love it!!! Definitely the latter
I am glad you decided to comment on the resort town bit. I was thinking it was a possible misread of your original post, where maybe she thought Tucson meant Scottsdale or something.

I like the rankings. I think its fun and you should keep doing it. It's just for fun. I just hope people are not taking this that serious. Also the game predictions would also be cool. Keep it up and I will be reading.

LOL... Your right, Tucson does sucks, but that looks like a really big tournament they went to, generated over $3 million to the local economy with over 350 teams (I am sure Tucson is thankful for that ). Here is the news story that mentions that Solar team and coach (Thanks Google!)

Having never been I define resort in January as anywhere you can have sun, a swimming pool, cocktails, and cozy bed that I dont have to make.

soccerdude10-
You'll have to forgive my ignorance, as I'm new to this scene. We tied a team called LP Reina on Sunday in primetime. They're a good team and gave us a good run. I can only surmise that it's the same Reina team and they're playing multiple leagues simultaneously???
If so, is this common at this age?

Argyle Academy - you need to be ranked in the top ten if you tied LP Reina (as they are ranked 4th).
Didnt you just form your team about a month ago?

There are two LP Renia teams a red and a white. Argle you played the white team and the red team plays in the EAL league.

Ok, that makes sense. They were the same LP Reina kids, for the most part, that hammered us in our first game last fall. I just didn't know if they were different from the EAL kids. Thanks for filling me in.

Well actually the team you played is a new team. Most of the kids you played in the fall are on the red team. Have a good night.

Re: 04 Boys Spring 2012
Latest Power Rankings - a couple things to remember, this is my opinion only, second wins and losses are only a piece of the equation. Who the wins and losses against are much more important (thank you SDXDad for that guidnace). I think we all can agree that there are clearly different tiers of teams and when teams are playing against eachother on a regular basis from the same tier you are going to get REAL soccer scores (3 to 1, 2 to 2, etc vs 7 to 0) as well as more losses vs when a team is predominately playing against teams from lower tiers). Ok ready for people to poke holes and throw up all over it, whine that their team isnt ranked in the right place and some other team is ranked higher than they are. blah blah blah
Tier I
1. Solar Red (playing in both 04 and 03 leagues)
2. DT Texans (Formerly DSC - playing in 03 and 04 leagues)
3. Odyssey
Tier II
4. Liverpool Reina
5. DT Rosales (playing only in an 03 league)
6. Andromeda Hiller
Tier III
7. Solar Chelsea Farley (playing in both 04 and 03 leagues)
8. Bandits
9. Wizards (playing only in an 03 league)
Tier IV
10. Leite United
11. Texans South
12. Solar Red Tarrant
13. Solar Partain
14. DT Manchester
15. FCD Gomez
16. FCD Snell
Tier V
17. FCD South - Tate
18. Mansfield Samba (playing only in an 03 league)
19. Azurri
20. TFC Volkan
Game of the week
Solar Red (#1) vs DT Leite (#10) - with both teams coming off wins last week and playing with a confidence this will be a good test. I expect Solar Red to be able to use their size and speed and make a difference. Solar Red 5 to 1
Other top games
DT Pomykal (#2) vs Solar Partain (#13) - these two teams played to a tie several weeks ago at inwood, but that was indoor. I expect DT Pomykal to join their winning ways this week and get the win. 4 to 1
DT Pomykal (#2) vs DT Densk (#14) - Will be tough for Pomykal with back to back games. But expect for them to have enough energy to eek out a win. 3 to 2.
Odyssey (#3) vs FWFC White (NR) - Odyssey gets another easy game against a weak opponent. Their skill and top players will prove to be too much. Predict 6 to 1
LP Reina (#4) vs Mayhem (NR) - LP Reina get an easy game after two tough league games. This wont be a contest. I expect at least a 8 goal margin of victory for LP Reina
Andromeda (#6) vs LP Sousness - Andromeda will look to start seperating themselves a bit this weekend with a convincing win against an easier opponent. Expect Andromeda to win 8 to 2.
Solar Farley (#7) vs (# Bandits - this game was rescheduled to a later date. Both teams now just only play silver teams today.
DT Rosales and Wizards play 03 teams and tough to predict without knowing the 03 teams.
One other intriguing game that I will be watching is Solar Red Tarrant (#12) vs DT Texans South (#11) - winner has a chance to crack the top 10 next week (not that they care).
Report them when you have them
