Re: HS Playoffs
What about 4-A?
I say FM Marcus holds their grown and lasts longer in the playoffs than Coppell

Would love to see a Marcus/Coppell playoff showdown. This is a multi-sport rivalry that goes back years...always good games, regardless of sport...

Will be interesting to see how the two best teams in district 5-5A(Coppell, Marcus), which is supposed to be the strongest district in the state, match up against the two best from 6-5A (Belton, Midway). Belton and Midway both have great records and look good on paper, but you wonder about how tough their competition has been compared to the powerhouses from the northern metroplex suburbs. It would be a huge boost to Waco-area soccer if even one of those teams comes out on top. Doubt it will happen, but anything is possible.

Re: HS Playoffs
Coppell won 3-1 last night. Waco is a big team that relies on size and speed to make runs and score goals. They didn't move the ball around very well and didn't display much in terms of shape. We will meet the winner of the Midlothian/Hebron game in the next round. My pick is Midlothian.

Hebron defeats midlothian and then defeats coppell, just like in the past two years.

Re: HS Playoffs
Not really. Last year they defeated Coppell in the first round and made it to the third round. Coppell Is weak in playoffs.

Re: HS Playoffs
Agreed, Coppell left something on the table last year. If Hebron is lucky enough to get past Midlothian tonight, then it will be a good game in the next round.

Doubtful....took a glance at the regular season head-to-head scores from this season in district play. I see a NINE in the Coppell column in one of their games vs. Hebron. NINE.

Southlake Carroll advances with a 1-0 shutout oh El Paso Bel Air.
Looks like all those predictions of an early Southlake exit were a bit premature.

I can't believe keller Central is still in it. Also I really thought that Sam Houston Would make it far this year.off_the_woodwork wrote:Jesuit over Rockwall 2 - 0, probably a mild upset

Re: HS Playoffs
Hebron beats Midlothian in OT. So in Region 1 only 2 out of 8 district winners are still playing (Southlake and Coppell). Crazy stuff.
