Makes sense, which to Clubs point, is why it was important to rack up as many points as possible during this first half of the season, knowing that the second half will not be as easy.Eight-Ball wrote:Somebody sent me this the other day in a PM - adds up the winning percentage of each team and the teams they have played to determine a "strength of schedule" for the games already played. Exactly. Logically, the list should reverse itself for the spring season - FC Force has the easiest schedule and FCD has the hardest.

You forgot the "With all due respect" part. Actually, I've looked at their remaining schedule MANY times and I assure you that my bb has promises to keep, and miles to go before he sleeps, and miles to go before he sleeps. I'm also sort of hoping that his team won't just roll over and die suddenly when faced with a daunting schedule, it's not 2012, you know.Eight-Ball wrote:Ibystander wrote:Luck has very little to do with my picks. This last set of games may shuffle the standings a little prior to finishing this first half of the season. In particular I see three games that should be good ones; Solar Red vs. FW, Solar vs. Comets, and FCD Suarez vs Barcelona. For the sake of predictions and getting people riled up, I'm going to go with Solar Red, Solar, and a tie between Suarez and Barca. In my estimation, that would make the standings end up in this fashion;
1. DT Craft 30
2. DTS 28
3. Andro 24
4. Solar Red 20
5. Solar 18
6. FCD Suarez 18
7. Comets 17

15. Tyler 10
16. FCD South 10
17. DTR 7
18. FCD Gold 6
19. FCD Blue 0
20. FC Force 0

You have a tough road - First 9 games: Gunners, CC, FCD Blue, Chivas, DTR, Tyler, FWFC, ASG and Barcelona - 17 points. Next 10 games: DT, DTS, Andromeda, Solar Red, Solar, FCD, Athletico, FCD South, FCD Gold and FC Force. You have a very tough schedule to navigate!

no offense intended - just the fact that its a very tough schedule. With all due respect, I'm not sure how to respond to the many promises, miles, sleeping and rolling over part!

Re: 99 Who will make D1 ?
Oh well, games are cancelled tonight. By the way have you ever seen worst fields than Richland college ? It is unbelievable that on sunday there was still some water on some fields, this was almost 2 weeks after the last rain drop !

Re: 99 Who will make D1 ?
...and nobody even tried patching the fields or at least putting some sand on the bad spots ! I guess they are just not maintaining the fields, that's why they cancel so much too...

Re: 99 Who will make D1 ?
I don't know about the macho dad, but let's take tonight as an example : D1 games at Richland are cancelled but Rec games on the Mccinish Carrollton fields are playable. What I am saying here is that it is quite obvious that the Chamber Classic leagues chose wrong fields. Any quick rain (come on, it wasn't that long and that hard yesterday) and you get a week of cancellation. That's just quite pitiful...

I live 10 mins from Richland and the rain last night was very heavy for over an hour or so and continued to rain for a couple hours longer. I was hoping the sun and high wind today would be enough to keep the fields open, though! Maybe the fields were "on their last leg" this weekend and with the Texans tournament coming up this weekend and being played there, they don't want to risk any more damage to them....just my two cents.

Socmom mudt have a family member on the Classic League board. She always claims that she lives close the fields and there were torriential rains near the field. The fact is it's a joke they call games so early and the fields either suck or are not maintained well. Rains the night before(2 weeks since teh last rain) should not cancel soccer games..hell they shouldn't even cancel baseball games. It's embarrasing!

I live close to the fields too and the rain was heavy. A good question is why didn't they do more games on Sunday. That wasn't the first Sunday that bb sat around trying to break things with his soccer ball. The should have been more proactive on the reschedules

No family on the CL board, but several close friends on the board, who live close to Richland, as well. As far as Sunday for more makeup games, the fields were busy yesterday with makeup games for the older age groups, U15 & 16 for sure. It does seem a shame that as nice as the afternoon is, we aren't playing soccer tonight!

Re: 99 Who will make D1 ?
You're absolutely clueless. You're the same guy who will complain next spring that the fields are in poor shape; yet, you want to play on them when they're wet now. Do you have even the slightest idea how many games are played on these fields? No amount of maintainence can keep up with the sheer volume of games. It's an insult to all of the people who worked hard to get in all of these games in the wettest fall in ages to make the comments you made.CLUB31 wrote:Socmom mudt have a family member on the Classic League board. Scheduling during the Thanksgiving Holidays is a joke. Families leave for vacation and the league is blowing it. Tournaments are fine but regualer season games should be put off until the spring.
